100% of our evokers are getting benched guildwise. The evoker class is not worth its headaches. You can white knight, with “git gud” non-sense all you like. It doesn’t change anything to this classes poor design.
In short… devastation underperforms in all forms of content. Hands down. You can’t convince me otherwise. Preservation brings nothing to the table that a druid can’t do with the same output and better survivability.
The range of spell in raids doesn’t make up for the fact that my output is evenly matched to a druid, who all brag about how much easier it is to heal in raids and keys. I tire of pulling my hair out during keys and raids trying to reach people to heal them or have some r-tard who doesn’t know about the range limitation and DPS on Pluto. What good is high HPS if someone routinely stands outside your heal range during a mechanics?
If you are still playing this class, good on you I guess. You truly are a bumble-bee player if you are sticking it out. The headaches aren’t worth it for anyone else. I will revisit this class after blizzard figures out that this class is dying due to its design choices.

Thanks for being part of the problem. Anything else you want to waste key strokes on?

I don’t care for healing, but devastation faces similar problems with range, less than impressive damage and confounding talent trees.
Still love it, though, and I have, a perhaps naive, hope that they are quietly planning on some talent and spell reworks that will emphasize the fun of the class and make their dps more satisfying, without accidentally turning them in to gods, which seems to be the developers’ greatest fear.

Guess which healer was run the vast majority of keys in the recent MDI… it wasn’t druid. And while they may “heal as easily” they do not bring anywhere close to the same damage as prevokers. And lastly, if you and your guild choose to play with bad players who don’t understand the prevoker’s range that’s a you and a guild problem, not the class’ problem.

It is certainly a different play style, but if you can figure it out, the damage is on the upper end of the list as Dev, and healing is still fantastic despite the nerfs in Pres.
Not a class for everyone. There are certainly improvements that could be made to smooth it out. Definitely some bugs that still drag us down too. However, that doesn’t mean the class isn’t still viable.

I’m currently gearing both as alts, and I have no clue how to do any decent damage as druid.
With evoker it’s easy, but resto is horrible damage. I press my dots, heal a bit, then cat form. Even with convoke my damage is trash.
My guild has 2 currently progging on M Raz. 1 Healer, 1 DPS.
Sounds like your guild is looking at the wrong problems.

My parses are in no way that good on prevoker, but going over yours I can see about 10 ways you can add 10-30k extra hps for your ilvl.
For your ilvl your parses are low.

From your heroic farm clears? Sounds like a guild problem.
You don’t even play devastation
I’m not going to say there aren’t some survivability issues. But preservation is the top performing healer in basically all content. That’s just a fact.
I think devastation could use a little bit of talent diversity, or a little bit of clarity of purpose in terms of why it needs to be a 25 yard range spec, but it is doing very good numbers in raid and m+ right now.

I was checking their parses just to see what it may be; looks like a player issue. I couldn’t find a single instance of lifebind being on the charts once. Which is like one of our top 4 heals.
Now my parses are in no way good. I personally think we overheal and we do heroic so I have no place to really say; mine are low too. Just looks odd to say it sucks when the issue is clearly the player.

Its not fair judging a class so early after it’s release. Specially one as experimental as evoker.
Remember DK and Monk when they were released? The former was broken af and the latter was weak af. Nowadays dk arent anywhere as strong as they were back in wotlk and monk are very strong.
With this in mind i have hopes for more balances and tweaks for evoker in the future. I main deva and im one of the top 3 dps of my guild but i do admit the spec could have some tweaks wich I’m sure they will get eventually.
Personally though im crossing my fingers for the race to have a tanking option, either in the form of a third spec to evoker or opening the race to other classes. The biggest slip to the race imo was blizzard releasing it and locking it to a single class if they knew said class wouldn’t have a tank spec. Locking the race to a very much needed group role.
Imagine just how many people would have loved (me included) to be a frontline tank dragon

Its been quite “Devestating” ;D, in pvp lately. in our guild, we have a standing Evoker and he generally does 67-80k DPS, consistently out performing some of our more veteran team on certain fights.
Then there was no point to this post on a forum where many people have differing opinions. If you have already CHOSEN to not have your mind changed or even consider others that may have a different experience or evidence to suggest otherwise, then you are simply complaining.
i will admit, this does bother me. I am soooo used to being at a certain range with my other healers, but its a simple thing to try and learn and adjust to, its just a different playstyle.
just because someone else is enjoying the class more than you, doesn’t mean being rude is the answer

Anything else you want to blame before getting good?
prevoker is the top or one of the top healers in both mythic plus and raid. The range thing is annoying but not really that big a deal outside of niche situations.
Devoker is solidly middle of the pack. I can agree if asking for buffs but there are definitely evokers out there managing to pump dmg in both raid and M+. Evokers also bring a bunch of utility which shouldnt be slept on.
I personally only really play my alt evoker to heal and the amount of healing they can casually throw out is insane. There are definite improvements that can and should be made to both specs but trying to claim either is terrible is just factually untrue if you look at any sort of logs.
Getting good is a marathon not a sprint.

Performance for both specs is fine. Not extraordinary, but fine. Devastation’s probelms are with bugs and design, not numbers. Preservation is one of the best healers right now, because it isn’t hard to adapt to their reduced range.

im my guilds top healer, i wont get benched, Try harder.
Sorry to hear you are not enjoy evoker Vitadraconis. I can agree that sometimes the range limitation is frustrating- but we can absolutely keep up with if not out preform other healers on every fight. I feel I’ve done decent with Pres Evoker since switching from an Rdruid main and here are a few things I’d recommend to you if you are interested. If not no worries and you can stop reading here
Best wishes either way.

Try this build out- BwbBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQJHQEiIFJJh0CJJJhEAAAAAQSSTkAgEJJJJJiDkE

You are relying a lot on your dream breath healing but you are not buffing it beforehand with Verdant Embrace (Call of Ysera makes this 40% more powerful. I’d suggest using VE pretty much every time before you Dream Breath. I have a macro that just uses VE on myself when I just want the buff but don’t want to fly across to an ally due to positioning. This gives you the buff quickly and ensures you are making use of your mastery. Then a separate keybind for when I want to use it on someone else of course.

Don’t sit on your echoes. Get as many out as you can and you will absolutely blast Reversion/Golden Hour or VE/Lifebind into Emerald Communion. You can even use Emerald Communion as a raid cd if you can get enough echoes with Temporal Anomaly/Resonating Sphere.
-
Get as many Reversion out on the raid as you can. Think of this sorta like a Rdruid rejuv its going to give you more healing, interacts with tier set and if you time it right with big damage like on terros for example Golden Hour is incredible.
-
I don’t have Emerald Blossom on my bar currently… just feel like its not worth the button press atm. Maybe that will change with upcoming changes though! We shall see. But currently I feel other things are more worth pressing with that gcd.
-
I suggest focusing on Mastery>Crit > whatever else for Raid. Highest ilev for main stat of course but on neck/rings stack as much of that mastery as you can. I promise you’ll see your numbers fly in a raid environment.
-
Make sure you are using your hovers and casting TA / using living flame procs during heavy movement. Truly a game changer on fights like Terros/Dathea/Brood.
-
Stasis. I can’t recommend this talent enough. It takes some getting used to but the potential is limitless. I have a few different stasis “ramps” I use depending on what I want to do next. My go to is typically VE (for the buff)>Stasis>TA>Reversion>DB empower 1. But you can also have a lot of fun with Stasis and pre pull store 2x TAs, then on pull do a third. When needed (and doing a little spin move) you can blanket the raid in TA’ Echoes for a BIG Verdant Embrace / Lifebind into Emerald Communion heal. I’ve seen close to 170k hps on Broodkeeper during raid wide damage with this strat.
Again sorry you are not enjoying the class more. I hope you’ll find the above helpful if you decide to keep playing. Best wishes.

They average around 40k it looks like.
