Seems like a glass half full sort of question.
Although according to the old RPG half elves took significantly more after their elven parents.

Pretty much just demanding the whole apple at this point
I think when they mentioned the eye update they mentioned it was mostly back-end stuff to get eyes running properly in SLs. So that all makes sense.
Still I was hoping we might see some new shiny eyes. Blizzard could be a tease who knows⊠they left High Elves peppered all over the Alliance all these years.
Is that true? I didnât read anything that claimed that. According to the RPG theyâre instantly recognizable as Half Elves, not to be mistaken with their parent races
I plan on buying the RPG books when I get the spare cash, maybe I can confirm then
Itâs about how the glow tech changed on 8.3. Now only âplayer choiceâ eyes have an eye glow effect -the new one thatâs baked into the texture itself and doesnât hover in front-
The thing now is that the elves in socretharâs rise -as well as the BEâs in Telogrus as Alamara pointed out- used to have green eyes, but without the eye glow, so now they still have dull green eyes because they didnât get updated with the new system.
I donât think glowless green eyes have a lore significance, they just seem like a bug, itâs just that the usual bug was blue eyes with the green overlay glow.
Isnât that High Elf males have always have teal-ish blue eyes rather than flue like the females? And they donât have any glow, rn only the player options (Green, Yellow and DK Blue) have glow effect, HE Blue and DR Red are now opaque/glow less.
Like iâm honestly hoping for more eye colors for BEâs even if they are different shades between yellow and green, that would be swell. Honestly if they do give blue eyes to BE, it would be fun they also added a couple transitory shades as well.
The dream are red eyes tho!!
I mean given that in WoW they use either human or elven models, I think the answer is just that itâs not really codified either way heh. Specially since a lot of the RPG was kinda outsourced, then de-canonized and only little bits had made its way to mainstream lore -Like Tandred-
I dunno, according to the page on high elves theyâre recognisable as half elves, according to the page of half blood elves the elf half is dominant.
I suspect weâll see Green, Yellow (Of course), and purple and blue. Probably red. Iâm betting theyâll throw in red for fun. I also hear that Reforged has Amber eyes for them.
what do half elves have to do with what I have said?
Out of curiosity, what would you consider a fair compromise?
Weird. Iâm sure that if Blizz were to make them cannon theyâd go with the âinstantly recognizableâ part. Itâs kind of why theyâd go with Half Elves in the first place, tbh
Void elves were the compromise.
I mean I like the idea of Half Elves, but itâs kind of a bummer that the Half Threads we have seen have basically been more about âan alternative to High Elves you could haveâ rather than someone with actual passion for High Elves making their points with some TLC.
It just comes across haphazardly.
Iâm pretty sure Guzzle does not want any type of (second) compromise. He stated several times that Void Elves were our compromise.
Ah, bummer.
I mean amber is kinda yellow so we are good, and Iâm honestly not seeing purple happening, and red ONLY if they want to give a nod to Dark Rangers, so kinda unlikely.
IMO what I am expecting is at most/best Blue -Teal - Green -Lemon Green- Yellow
Totally agree, thatâs why I was hoping Lorithyn would make one lol
I hope so. I have wondered about making one myself, but I never even did one for High Elves so I donât think Iâm much of a thread maker bhaha.
Oh okay, I must be confused on what the false claim youâre making is.
