Easy to discredit anyone by calling their claims headcannon.
everything I say is exactly what the words are. people would understand what I say so much easier if they would take them at face value instead of thinking I am lying or trying to trick them.
That has been an issue for me since I could talk. Humans are so untrusting.
This is true; as long as âand they would be leaving the neutral city-state of Dalaran upon that announcementâ is added to your comment. Khadgarâs position on this is unambiguous, Dalaran is neutral.
Itâs easier when they make a claim that goes against whatâs seen in-game and then refuse to provide evidence.
I think the Silver Covenant being a âregimentâ may come from the wiki, but itâs likely outdated
In truth we have no idea how large the SC actually is
Both sides donât hold monopolies over the 100% truth tho.
in game is an extremely scaled down version of the canon world. Take goldshire for instance. a single large house, a blacksmith, and an inn. In the lore it would be about the size that stormwind is in game.
And that hasâŠwhat to do with this? I am legitimately confused.
You see, there is this whole messy burden of proof thingâŠ
When you make a claim, people get to ask you to back it up and asking you to do so is in no way insulting or inappropriate. I have looked at wowpedia, wowhead, and wowwiki. None of them mention the estimated size of the SC, so if there is canonical evidence in the game itself then asking for it is completely reasonable.
EDIT to add new facts
The 7th Legion in its entirety is a single Regiment. If thatâs meant to include the Silver Covenant as part of its composition then the SC is not Regiment sized. I mention this because most of the high elf mages in the 7th Legion are faction-tagged as part of the Silver Covenant.
It appears to me that either side thinks they are fully back with all of the facts. We have so much information missing, and we do not know the current intentions of the Dev team. We know of what they have done in the past, but these things change of a whim.
Well of course besides the fact we know that the only major force they fielded in Legion was, in fact, a battalion.
Mate, if I ask someone for proof of a claim they made, âno but sometimes antis lie tooâ, is not a legitimate reason why I have no right asking for said proof.
also note that the silver covenant is large enough to have itsâ own navy. They have ships we can see in game.
Having ships is not the same as having a navy. I grew up in a seaside town, no one thought Mr. Tucker who operated a small fleet of fishing boats was an Admiral in Her Majestyâs Royal Navy.
Of course you have the right to ask for itâŠ, I admittedly havenât been paying much attention to what he has been speaking of. Sorry to get off on tangents sometimes.
Pretty evident that there are no hard SC numbers though lol.
typically when a military has their own ships that makes it part of the navy. It isnât some fishing boat. They are warships primarily used for transport because of course they donât have a fleet large enough to fight an actual sea battle. It just says they are bigger than you think because they have the soldiers to field an army and operate ships.
Except youâre making that up.
The Royal Navy was formed in I wanna sayâŠ1546?
Did that mean prior to that maritime warfare just didnât exist and kingdoms just invaded foreign shores with a good backstroke and plenty of team spirit? No, of course not, they used warships. A navy refers to something far more specific than âthey own warshipsâ.
A battalion would need a small fleet of ships to move it around, Rreifren. I donât know the carrying capacity of the average ships we see in game but; if in addition to the shipâs crew compliment we estimated ~50 armed troops and gear per vessel (and I think thatâs a lot - weâve been on these ships and any mounted elements would require far more space so, idk, perhaps 20-30 troop and mount combinations per ship?) then the SC would need at least 10 ships to move a single battalion - not including escort and cargo ships to deal with the logistics of supported an armed force in the field.
So just to put a battalion at sea youâre looking at 15+ ships. How many have you seen in one place?
again in game is an extremely scaled down version of canon WoW. Also we know for escort ships they would likely depend on the alliance navy at large seeing as they used them in the isle of thunder.
We donât see armies move around in WoW. we arrive and they are there already. The logistics behind it is not told to us and we just have to assume that it is like that based off of what we do know and applying real life to it.
Weâve established that populations donât matter, right? Also, real world numbers donât apply to what we see in game
Stormwind has like what, 100 or so npcâs? In lore it should have a lot more. If we see 12 or so Kul Tiran ships in a cutscene that may very well represent the entire might of the Kul Tiran navy lol
That being said, the SC is surely few in number. Theyâre a small military organization at best
