The High Elf Love Thread đŸ„°

I think it’s important to answer these questions:
Is the high-elf/blood-elf (fair skinned, majestic elf) a CORE horde race? Is it STEALING a horde theme, giving the Alliance a similar elf race, be it High-Elf or Half-Elf?

All elves are essentially ideal humans, untrained eyes will say blood elves are just thinner/prettier humans. This isn’t a problem in conventional fantasy games because in those games, the elves are usually sided with humans and dwarves (short humans), so their subtle differences are considered enough.

But in World of WarCraft this isn’t the case, so this becomes a big problem because the two sides are too similar——the fair skinned, majestic elves are never meant to fight the humans, otherwise they would’ve been made way too different. Currently it feels more like the Huns (allegedly ugly in historical record) fighting the Europeans (with their narrow face), just human VS. human.

So this isn’t something to be proud of, and to treat it as a hallmark/specialty of WOW is absurd. It’s not good, it’s bad. The proofs of this are: The blood elves never represent the horde (don’t even show in CG/posters), their leaders don’t do anything meaningful
And the existence of High Elf in the Alliance.

If the Blood Elf image screams HORDE, then why does the Alliance have High Elves? Clearly even the developers, the lore makers didn’t feel right, to make the fair skinned, majestic elf Horde exclusive. There’s nothing to be exclusive of, it would be like saying—Here this faction has humans, and that totally different faction has prettier/thinner humans. How unique is that!

Now I understand people move, there’s no reason two factions can’t have the same race. I can perfectly accept a human variation (prettier, thinner etc.) also represented in the monster faction. It’s all about suspense of disbelief. But making a human variation extinct in the human faction, and at the same time claiming it’s a CORE race of the monster faction—That’s a bit much don’t you think?

Making the High Elf extinct would imply that the Alliance restrict people’s movement (because people move), as far as I know the Alliance does no such thing. So unless this is something I don’t know about, we have no choice but to accept, that the High Elf exist in the Alliance.

They exist, so there’ll always be a possibility that High Elf or Half Elf becomes playable. Some may choose going back to Silvermoon city (so the Horde can have High Elf). Some may even act as spies for the Horde. Whacho gonna do? But all these doesn’t change the fact that, the fair skinned, majestic elf don’t live in one place.

When you live in different countries, you contribute to the local communities, you don’t actively sabotage your new home. You pray there’d better not be war, but when it happens it happens, and there are rules and duties in place, regardless of who the enemy are.

She has never had any class. The clothing she wore in the past was to show off her body since she was vain. She made nathanos a ranger general against protests. Ever since she was raised from the dead she’s been a character who is selfish, greedy, and looking out for her own self interest. It is noted in shadows of the sun she does not care about anything but her own goals. The notion she ever had class is silly.

None of the windrunner are written well. They all acted in the desire of their lovers, or their own selfish goals. shrug an opportunity wasted.

Well I mean she is just comically evil now
she of course has had a bad edgy side
never the level she is now. but recently her character has just fast forwarded into complete baddie.

The mana-bomb that took out Theramore in Pre-MOP killed Vareesa’s husband

Yeah, I know that part, I meant the I wanna join them part.

She was about to join Sylvanas on the Horde after poisoning Garrosh before his trial.

Sylvanas isn’t even loyal to the Horde. She completely ignored Garrosh’s orders not to use the plague on Gilneas, but went ahead and did it anyways.

So I hate her on both factions. I want her gone, she ruined BFA for Horde.

Who Join who? Oh nvm softsong answered
now that Alleria is back and firmly alliance I don’t know if Vareesa will be swayed horde.

Was that in the War Crimes book? Never read it.

That doesn’t make sense, but Blizz has rarely made sense with who’s a member of the Horde.

Can’t remember exactly where it happened, but it did. The three sisters comic even touched up on it again, so you can always read up on that to get caught up.

I think Vareesa just wanted to be close to her sister again, regardless of the undeath or her faction affiliation.

I really like the individual member races of the Horde, but as a whole they feel like they don’t belong on a deep level. It causes me some uncomfortable levels of cognitive dissonance, that’s why I can never immerse my self playing Horde.

Can’t get this visual out of my head now.

Oh! pick up the book War Crimes where Vereesa actually contemplates joining the Horde directly after Mists of Pandaria.

You know Mists of Pandaria: the expansion where Vereesa blames the Horde for killing her husband, has an active hand in the Purge of Dalaran, and is part of the Alliance Offensive at the Isle of Thunder.

No, the issue is that Vereesa in any sort of written material is portayed as a neutral character who has symphatics to the Horde and her people
while WoW Vereesa is a hardline Alliance.

Stopping by to share the love today! Keep strong, Quel’dorei kin :blue_heart::star2::unicorn:

Lorthemar also contemplated joining the Alliance in MoP
that doesn’t mean he gets along well with them.

That wasn’t the point of what he stated

Has Lorthemar contemplated joining the Alliance or not? If people want to get down to “vereesa almost quit alliance” lets look at the whole picture.
