The hate for shadowlands is biased

Lore retcon? Chronicles? Did you people not read what chronicles even was it wasn’t a set and stone lore book it’s a “perspective” from the titans.

That’s because it was MEANT to be a set in stone lore book, the whole “perspective” of the titans was a BS copout excuse made-up on the spot to have them pave their horrendous story & writing

Heck there’s story-elements in Chronicles that the Titans wouldn’t had even known about …

These days people are defending WoD.

Only people I see defending WoD - Are those who are in discussions about what expansion is the worst or which they’d rather remove … And the reason is because Shadowlands completely eclipses WoD in how terribly bad it was

Shadowlands.
— Without a doubt.

• WoD sucked in the lore of Draenor etc itself, but at the end of the day I guess you could always paint ‘Alternate Universe’ on it & call it a day.

Shadowlands on the otherhand, retconned:

• Chronicles.
• Emerald Dream.
• Elune (In case you didn’t know - She’s actually just a robot)
• Sylvanas
• Souls, afterlives and the after-reward to the faith systems in WoW
• Class lore.
• The Legion
• The Titans
• The Scourge.

etc, etc – basically just about everything.

Ultimately:

Retconning Shadowlands actually removes a lot of retcons, that many people actually loathed due to their favourite stories, concepts or characters being ripped to shreds merely so they could elevate some wannabe villain ‘The Jailor’ and justify their expansion that didn’t really fit into the game’s previously established lore very well.
