The Hardcore Patch Notes I'd Like to See

General

  • Player characters that have not yet attained level 60 on a Hardcore realm will no longer be able to trade non-conjured items, receive items in the mail from other player characters, or purchase items on the auction house.
  • Player characters that have attained level 60 on a Hardcore realm will receive the [TBD] title, which they will retain in Character Moves and Paid Character Transfers.
  • Player characters with a difference in level in excess of ten will no longer be permitted to join parties or raids with each other.

Shop

  • Player characters that have achieved level 60 on a Hardcore realm may Character Move to a Classic realm.
  • Hardcore realms cannot be the destinations of Character Moves or Paid Character Transfers, even if a Hardcore realm is also the origin.

Help

  • Game Masters will not return characters to life under any circumstances.
  • The Character Stuck! feature has been disabled.

World

  • The ghosts of player characters can no longer resurrect when within range of their corpse.
  • When a player character leaves the zone in which a non-player character spawned, the player will be immediately removed from the non-player character’s threat table.

Dungeons & Raids

  • Player characters outside the posted inclusive level range of a dungeon or raid’s Meeting Stone can no longer enter those instances.
  • Characters that leave an instance group are no longer teleported out of the instance after one minute.
  • The ghosts of player characters entering portals for instances containing their corpse will now be teleported back to the nearest graveyard instead of being resurrected at the instance entrance.

PvP

  • Attacking non-player characters can no longer cause a player character to become flagged for PvP.
  • Player characters can no longer attack other player characters flagged for PvP unless they have manually flagged themselves for PvP with the /pvp console command.

  • added mob zone leashing
  • clarified some character nomenclature
  • also remove the portals deck, the trinket, and the quest
  • stronger anti-grief for warlock summons
  • removed spells that couldn’t be cast so they are not purchasable
  • removed reagents that can only be useful for removed spells
  • give the paladins something for doing the Redemption quest, like the price of a level 12 spell
  • forgot about Ancestral Spirit
  • backported WotLK Nature’s Guardian to replace Improved Reincarnation

Imagine taking all the fun out of the game, and not even working for Blizzard

lol no. Only rule that belongs on a hc server is the removal of the resurrect option. Anything else is a self imposed clown rule from a clown addon by a clown community. And you absolutely don’t deserve a title for being an antisocial leveling bot.

1- pvp enabled is mandatory
2- “green” enemies no longer award experience

Otherwise it’s not really hardcore.

I’m getting conflicting signals.

Yeah I agree that you either go super hardcore or you just have no restrictions.

Middling restrictions wont make hitting 60 an achievement. People will just farm green mobs. Either make hitting 60 some monumental achievement or just dont have restrictions.

This dude gets it. The rules imposed by the current hardcore “”“community”“” are horribly antisocial and make no sense in classic WoW.

No trading ruins a lot of professions and turns 90% of item drops into greys effectively.

No grouping is just a pain in the a**… Skipping Quests because of insanely long queues is just dumb and most classes can solo most elite quests easily so it is barely an increase in difficulty.

That mage shows they don’t know how classic even works

Supreme cringe.

actually rebirth should still be allowed, it has a limited use on dead hunter pets :expressionless:

Perfectly summed it up.

Somebody’s jealous…

Lol, no.

The cryhard metasheep have been doing this since before launch.

shut up and just play YOUR game…whatever that means to you

The point of the restrictions is to prevent cheesing. If you want to do things like send your alts bags or get boosted in dungeons all the way to 60, that’s fine. The Classic Era realms will still be there for you. I’m hoping that Blizzard knows better than to hand out participation trophies or (worse) unearned recognition for making it to 60 on one’s own without dying when one actually didn’t.
