You said there would be no way to flag unintentionally but it’s actually worse on HC servers. If any guard aggros you, you flag. This is true when alliance characters go to the great lift. It’s true with the Stonard scouts who are all around Swamp of Sorrows (patting through many areas you quest in). This is not the way it works on Era and everyone will assume they can avoid flagging just by not attacking the guards.
My “friend” who I was in a guild with in SoM messaged me yesterday and said they have a new griefing discord and are actively preparing to camp the great lift on Defias Pillager. He was “warning” me. They aren’t leveled yet but in a couple of days we will see tons of deaths and we have already seen people die to this. Is there any plan to hotfix this bug?

I lost my level 37 to this last night. A Loch Modan guard aggrod me, and a 43 gnome mage trolled me with frost bolts and killed me. 50 hours in and feeling that helpless over a bug is not what I had in mind. There’s no resses, so I transferred off

Weird, I was tired and walked by a PvP patrol orc with a red name and they didn’t aggro onto me when our bodies passed through each other. I couldn’t even right click them when I hovered my cursor over.
Is it only some PvP NPCs that aggro and others don’t? I don’t understand. Anyone clarify?

honestly I’m surprised that on the hardcore realms they didn’t just make opposite faction NPCs completely ignore the other faction but at the same time impossible to attack.
i.e. alliance could walk through crossroads and not be attacked by guards but also can’t attack/interact with the NPCs inside the town.
Aside from dueling I legit can’t think of a reason for anyone to want to have any PvP interactions out in the world in a hardcore setting and having high level guards in low level zones meant for both factions to travel across seems goofy in this setting.
if that was in ashenvale that’s a quest NPC and is actually considered a civilian. Many civilians are PvP flagged but will not attack others unless attacked. Though some civilians will flag you for PvP and call guards if you get too close to them.

If only there was some way to have tested the 30+ areas

DK’s still get bugged in round 2 of wrath. Many a dk has gone back home and…the guard NPC dk’s drop em real fast.

I had to run to the Badlands from Arathi Highlands, and got to the tunnel with the dwarfs patrolling. They do still aggro and they do have a slowing CC – which can be a killer if you don’t fight back. I was under the impression that you don’t get flagged unless you fight back. Maybe that’s wrong? You get flagged the moment a guard attacks you??
If I was PVP flagged I’m not sure. I couldn’t remember what the indicator was on the screen.
These particular guards should not flag if you kill them. They should just be like regular mobs for the horde.

confirming that dwarf guards in tunnel leading from wetlands to dun murogh pvp flag you when they attack you; doesn’t matter whether you attack them or not.
well I’m not worried because I don’t go anywhere near horde towns. The only place that is of the tiniest concern is swamp of sorrows where guards like to patrol around the roads for some reason
but even that just requires being a little careful.
