Yup, D&D is the first and best RPG ever.
D&D “Pool of Radiance”
I think it was back on the original NES.
Playing through all of it just to find out the world you were in was basically a giant terrarium and you were basically just some cosmic being’s “pets”.
It was great and what got me into RPGs.
Edit: Now that it has been mentioned, it was Warriors of the Eternal Sun where you were in the terrarium, not Pools.
Both are excellent games though.
The PC version was WAY better.
The NES port wasn’t the greatest, but it was passable for the most part.
D&D. It’s the one thing I can get all of my 4 kids to play together, ages 8 to 21. I go get pizza first and then we play for a few hours. They have so much fun as I DM and I enjoy how they progress the story. I hope it puts some lasting memories for them and they do it for their kids. There is nothing close.
There was a PC version?
Oh man
I loved the old D&D computer games with their wheel cypher! The only one I never played was Hillsbrad because no store in Edmonton was selling it.
I played mine on a Commodore 64, but yeah.
In fact, you can still find it on GoG.com or Steam I think.
Fallout: New Vegas, Deus Ex and VtM: Bloodlines. Truly great games.
Thanks, I’ll look into it.
Would be a good way to kill time until the expansion drops.
Anyone ever play D&D Warriors of the Eternal Sun on the Genesis?
I put so much time into that one, but my cart failed and the save wouldn’t work even after replacing the battery. Bought a new cart years later and same issue.
I tried playing without turning it off, but after a week or so I had to give that up.
It’s part of a pack of other games made by the same people. There are like 3 or 4 packs of those games.

Hearts of stone was one of the greatest stories I’ve had the pleasure of playing through, blood and wine was insanely good, witcher 3 base game was pretty much revolutionary.
Witcher 3 is the GOAT
God of war is right up there too. Masterpiece. Bring on Ragnarok.
Edit: honorable mention goes to elder scrolls: oblivion. That game was mind blowing when it was current
YES!
Loved that one too.
That is what we need, a great D&D game again.
Where are they?
Can’t believe it took so many posts for someone to say it.
The game can be purchased on Steam or GoG. Look up Forgotten Realms: The Archives. Pools is in Collection 2.
So many mediocre ones have come and gone, I think the MMO is still around maybe?
Hopefully the movie is good and it can spawn a new wave of media.
Although the TTRPG is getting an amazing 3d digital module thing in the next couple of years. Hopefully with things like Critical Role, Dimension 20 and others on youtube it will only grow. Stranger Things has been a big boost too.
Pokemon lol Combined
Never returned a game so fast before! First and last time i purchased a game off advice from other WoW players, youll be happy to know I unfriended from my bnet all who suggested it ~
I never watched past the first episode of Stranger Things, it seemed to be centered around children, and as a 50 year old guy, stories centered around kids don’t normally interest me much anymore, I can’t relate to them that much.
Final Fantasy X. No competition.
