The gold swap policy change is just set up to implement classic token

Save anniversary from the bots and add the token.

so you pay each month to chat with us ! wow thanks you !

it won’t matter if token in era or anni or both.
those servers are filled with gold buyers & gold sellers anyway.

Nothing can save anni… It’s totally effed. They’d rather ban real players and keep bot accounts. Don’t care about ban waves, or “their methods” or whatever. Keeping “flagged” accounts to peddle “dirty” gold and banning those legit players that interacted with them in a clean way is disgusting.

Gdkp never left on my game idk what you’re talking about

Huge changes coming

I was thinking the megaserver structure just made it easier to map out the gold selling operations and got them cut off but who knows.

… and the cycle repeats. Again.

This is the way it always goes. RMT ramps up in game and Blizzard just lets it sit until the player base begs for the token. Madseason did tell us so, by the way.

And how does the token do anything negative?

Here’s why you’re not going to win on the anti-token issue…

A. I have gold I want to sell and turn to real cash…
B. The company wants to act as a middleman and take a cut…
C. Because whales/new gen. gamers want gold to buy…

Period.

GDKP is one thing; but with the token issue, you’re standing in the way of the aforementioned three parties that want to benefit from it.

You think your issues of game morality are going to win out? GL.

It’s the same negative outcome that RMT brings. You’re now paying IRL money for in-game progress. It doesn’t really matter who you’re buying from.

Just play the game?

I mean it cuts out botting and RMT.

What negative is their from someone buying a token for their epic mount or raid consumes for a week?

How does it negatively impact the game as a whole?

It’s a matter of who you’re asking and who’s playing the game.

I, who loves Wrath, only had the game enhanced for me with the addition of the token.

Who do you think was against the token in Wrath? Wrath Babies? No. I’m one of them.

That’s what I’m trying to understand.

I can’t see any actual negatives other than token is boogieman

It reduces bots and rmt

Allows people who farm gold to pay for their sub if the sub fee affects their income.

I can’t see a negative which is what I’m trying to get so maybe I can understand the other side but so far nothing.

Like someone selling a token for gold to buy their mount, it literally does nothing, gold traded hands that was it, the same amount of gold is still on the server.

Token is RMT, how do you figure it cuts down on it? Also, it doesn’t really change botting. Bots are still gonna pick all the herbs so they can sell it to you in exchange for all that fancy Blizzard gold you bought, which they will turn around and sell back to other players, undercutting Blizzard. Same issue we have now except Blizzard profits off it.

You’re meant to play the game, not buy your way though it. I often wonder why people even play this game if they just throw money at it to skip the content they already paid for, but hey… here we are.

100% of the players buying gold currently and even if 20% to 30% swap to buying tokens because it’s legal now make it so the gold selling sites have less gold to farm because they are getting less orders and now need less bots to fulfill those orders

Undercutting will happen anyway since gold prices from stuff like g2g will always be lower than the token, but people will still swap because tokens are legal which reduces the demand for botted gold.

You’re paying to play the game and the parts you like.

Sorry farming gold for 10 hours a week isn’t fun for most people, just like leveling their 4th alt isn’t fun.

You don’t get to determine what’s fun

And my clone?

Everything I did with since classic 2019 launch was for nothing since all that progress was eroded with the classic-progression client.

I don’t see the company respecting our time and progress with regards to “playing the game”. Hell yeah gamers are going to take shortcuts as a result of that.

It doesn’t matter because those players are still buying gold. RMT is RMT man. When you buy gold from Blizzard and use it to buy herbs that bots farm, you’re just making life easier for those 3rd party websites.

What if I told you that you stopped letting Blizzard change the game (mega servers) and let bots roam unopposed, then you wouldn’t have to farm gold 10 hours a week. You would have to farm consumables for a few hours a week but hey, that’s the game. If you don’t like it, why should you be allowed to pay to skip it?

I don’t either but let’s not kid ourselves. Blizzard isn’t doing us any favours with RMT and we’ve just hit yet another cycle of players begging them for it. Nothing changes.

RMT isn’t just RMT when one is being farmed by bots and the other is a guy who doesn’t wanna pay for a sub out of pocket. Nothing is being done about bots anyway so let players buy legally and let the intern work on banning bots instead of gold buyers.

Again; who’s we?

TBC Terry’s and Wrath Babies are more open to it.

It’s meant to be in our expacs.
