The gold sellers are chomping at the bit to get on those fresh servers

The gold sellers will flood those servers because the price of gold will be higher on them, they will make a ton of money as the “fresh community” ignores the reasons why the majority complained about current servers and why they needed fresh servers.

They will buy gold in the tens of thousands, blizzard will ignore it and more bots and sellers will flood the server trying to capitalize on the “fresh” market (pun intended).

While leveling new characters and that first month race will be fun for some people, the vast majority of the casual players that complained the loudest will fall further and further behind, then give up on their principles and buy gold, just to keep up and get BOE gear off the AH to do heroics and pug Naxx with gear score requirements.

And on that day (within 90 days), there will be a stampede of players chanting loudly “WE WANT ANOTHER FRESH SERVER”

sounds like every server everywhere every time always.
casuals are always behind, stuck, not competitive, needing a bailout etc.

People asking for fresh realms don’t realize that they are treating symptoms, not actual diseases. The fresh realms will end up exactly like the others and in record speed.

"We need fresh realms because old ones are overrun with bots.
-Fresh realms will be even more overrun with bots because your gold on a young economy is far more valuable. Not having transfers or boosts will not help you what so ever.

“We need fresh realms because I’m behind and this will allow me to catch up.”
-No it won’t. On a new realm you’ll soon fall behind all over again. If you can’t keep up or catch up then this will always be a problem for you. A new realm doesn’t magically fix this.

Look at all these kids mad about fresh servers. You guys realize you don’t have to play on them, right?

yep.

SOM’s been there.

SOM was there when for mere few hours one OCE allowed classic to SOM transfer and people had a bit of fun in the BG’s. OMFG, its soiled…do over all fresh now.

Umm…were you on the oce server? No. will you ever be on the oce server? No. So…no skin off your nose.

Hey oce player…are you gonna transfer over to a US Server?

Oce player goes no. and I wasn’t playing the day this happened even. Some thought it was even kind of funny too. on the actual server. Why I love Aussies and Kiwi’s. rolled with OCE guilds/corps for years as an American who lives/works outside the US. They are my kind of people mostly lol.

This is gonna be complicated but stay with me… What do you think happens to the price of gold on a server after it’s “flooded with gold?” Do you think it A. Stays the same, B. Goes up or C. Decreases dramatically.

Phone a friend and let me know what you come up with.

And as a follow up: What do you think all these gold-sellers are going to be doing before x-fers open? Waiting for xfers to open before selling gold OR starting their own bots/farmers etc on the new server anyway? So how much of a difference do you REALLY think it’s going to make?

I agree. Now fresh + properly managed server (i.e active GM’s constantly banning RMT/bots) would be good. Doubt they will though, so fresh will be fun for about 3 months until the gold inflation reaches the level of the regular servers.

It goes down but the server is flooded with gold, I am not sure what your point was, but once the damage has been done, there is no going back. Consumables and everything will be way more expensive and people that do not buy gold, will still be complaining about the cost of things and nothing will be done about it.

The existing bots will migrate to where the most money is, and fresh servers are where that will be for a much longer time. I am not sure if the new servers will ever get as low of a price as the current servers because there is still a market on them. If anything the fresh servers will cause the price of gold to go up slightly on the older servers, they will just sell their old stock of gold they have sitting around right now for a while to come.

The anti-fresh are SO unhinged. It continues to be hysterical.

I am not anti-fresh, I am just pointing out the reality of the situation, the “OMG FRESH” people are living in a fantasy land where fresh will solve their problems, it will not, it will just delay them for about a month or two then, they will start seeing GDKPs flooding chat (one of the things they complain about) and gold farmers will making money hand over fist as people scramble to buy it all up. Then soon after launch they will be in nearly the same position as every other server.

Explain to me how pointing out the simple economic conclusion to a problem that has been observed in the past and will occur once again, is somehow “unhinged”.

Until Blizzard can fix the botting, boosting and RMT issues, fresh servers are just the same destroyed economies, 3-6 months before they happen.

It’s not even just that. Sunk Cost fallacy isn’t a fallacy when it’s a real present thing. How many people do you think will be willing to put the character they’ve been working on since summer 2019 on the back burner to work on a brand new character on a new server as their new main? How many people will be picking up Classic for the first time in WotLK and will jump to a F R E S H server? I’d be willing to bet the answer to both of those is not many.

The people I’m speaking of are the ones who were in every fresh thread for years railing against them, fighting against them. And now they’re so bitter that fresh servers are coming they continue to criticize them.

I can’t imagine being so obsessed with an issue that is completely optional and has no impact on you. Other than the standard WoW forum attitude of ‘I can’t ever be wrong. Need to fight to the bitter end!!’ Those people need to just accept fresh are coming and move on.

Now, obviously there are concerns with how Blizz are handling fresh servers. Their latest post assuages some fears and makes me at least a little optimistic they actually care about the quality of the experience. They’ve already said they could delay transfers by months, or forever. Depends on the state of the servers.

The agree unless they hire some GMs to actually ban bots, gold sellers and gold buyers…the future doesn’t look great. Particularly if boosts get added. Will they? We’ll see.

Its not just value, its demand. Its an untapped market, fresh for exploiting. They can now provide a whole new range of clients, and the freshness of the server makes it much harder for native players to compete, specially once transfers open and characters with 3 months worth of gear start selling boosts and carries.

gold sellers and bots do not bother with dead servers

Actually I’d imagine that botters would love dead servers, it would allow them to farm without end, no one to report them and then, when they’ve amassed enough resources transfer off to a server where their botted goods can be sold on the AH.

I’m just gonna quote this whenever the subject pops up.

Fresh server is a chance to get it right. The population will be moderate so if they assign at least 1 GM to watch out for bots and RMT, and keep it seperate from the others servers it could work. It would be nice to see and a step towards regaining player trust.
