I’m a Feral player.
I really started playing in BFA, and I spent several months doing legion content. I completed two huge achievements just to unlock the whit skin for my Primal Stalker.
I didn’t play during Legion, so I never had the chance to earn the Mage Tower appearances… especially the Ghost of the Pridemother.
Seeing them show up in the barber shop hit hard. They’re beautiful, iconic, and a big part of why people love their class.
If we’re trying to attract new players, locking something this special behind a past event feels wrong.
I’m not asking for it to be handed out… far from it.
Make it hard, challenging, time-consuming. Something that only the most dedicated players will be willing to push for.
Don’t worry. They will release more new catforms that will look just as good. It seems they are already on this path seeing how they released some in DF.
Uh, no. We’ve hoped for that for almost a decade. Nothing even remotely as beautiful as Ghost of the Pridemother has been released.
The DF forms are meh at best. They have no special effects, and their eyes are just…weird. Almost nobody uses them.
Bliz has groomed its playerbase to dwell in the past. Didn’t/couldn’t do Challenge Modes or Mage Tower? You live in regret. Those limited-time events held the best transmogs, which aren’t even being released as recolors.
If Bliz were truly new-player friendly, they’d attempt to outdo their transmog and druid forms every season. Instead, they’ve carefully ensured the best stuff remains locked in the past.
It’s an odd take, especially considering how long-time players are passing WoW on to their children. What kid wouldn’t want to run around as a gorgeous Sparkle Kitty? But, well, they can’t, due to intractable FOMO policies and the refusal to develop rewards that are equal to - or, god forbid, can surpass - legacy rewards.
The point is they are trying to make new forms, when it fits the narritive. Don’t be unreasonable.
They literally stated they would be going away. They do the same thing with elite sets, glad mounts, and keystone mounts.
It’s unreasonable to expect this every season. They are adding them when they fit the narritive. Just because they dont release them every season doesnt mean they aren’t trying to be new player friendly.
This is the exception not the rule. The vast majority of new players are not current players passing the game to there kids. Also when did blizz state they won’t make new rewards to surpass the old ones? New sets already have better pixel counts. Lastly, FOMO is on the player; it is a mental illness. If you don’t like games with seasonal rewards don’t play live service games or mmos.
you do realize if they do that, then they have to let people unlock the Mage Tower appearance for the other classes right? that wouldn’t be fair to just let druid get all these unearned skins.

I understand the sentiment, and I’d love if they unlocked it as well.
But if they’re going to be equitable about it, they have to go back on their word about the Mage Tower. Just giving it to people who want the Druid one would be BS without unlocking all of them.
Bug Reports is strictly for bugs: when something isn’t working the way the developers intended. It’s pretty clear any shortcomings you perceive in available transmog looks weren’t an accident, so what you’re offering up here is a suggestion.
QA will ignore suggestions posted here. They’re going to be seen by absolutely nobody who could do anything.
New mounts, pets, and armor/weapon transmogs are practically raining from the sky nowadays. I got 28 sweet new weapon appearances + a cool mount through Phase-Lost-And-Found, a dinky little K’aresh achievement for those who love collecting. It’s clearly no skin off their backs. There’s no reason why Bliz can’t release tier forms for druids.
It’s perfectly reasonable to be upset that they’ve gated the girliest, prettiest, most mesmerizing forms behind a time-limited challenge without offering either recolors or anything that can compete with the forms. They offer recolors of almost everything else in the game except for a few cherry-picked items + the entirety of MT and CM transmogs. (At least they released a phoenix recolor, but…at the same time they removed special effects from everyone’s CM phoenixes.)
Lmao, not even going here. They’ve changed their minds on a dizzying array of topics over the years. WoW Classic existing at all, for one. They also recently put out a survey for Classic players, asking if they’d like to xfer their toons to retail once MoP is done. Which would mean that we would lose the precious exclusivity of our CM sets. Oh, the travesty of having to share with others after over a decade of exclusivity, how will we survive!? (Not to mention the fact that CMs were nowhere near as hard as today’s +12s and above. Hell, maybe even +10s or above.)
They never said this, because it’d be suicide to their game lol. I was bringing attention back o the evidence that they haven’t surpassed old transmog designs. You’re right, pixel counts are higher nowadays. You can zoom in to your drab-looking kitty form, see every whisker, and note its inferiority to the lovely special effects of Sparkle Kitty.
Because it would be unfair to other classes. It’s equivalent to druids getting a warlock green fire cosemtic every season. They will add them when it works thematically. They have said they want more unique class cosmetics in the same vein as warlock green fire or new druid forms. You just have to be patient.
You aren’t entitled to a recolor just because they have offered recolors on other items in the game. Gotta stop with that all or nothing mentality. Also, it’s all subjective; there are millions of players out there, blizz isn’t going to just cater to you. Many like the new forms they have added since legion. Even if they did add a recolor, it would likely not even have the special effects, like you eluded to.
So? They are aloud to change there mind; however, it doesnt mean you get to demand how they should change their view. Speculation isn’t even worth going into what they may do, or gauging player interest. I do think at the start, many players were interested in classic to begin with because of an eventual port to retail. It’s why I farmed out a lot of things on classic I didn’t get originally. But it’s no skin off my back if they decide not to port characters. At the end of the day I did that on a whim and a speculation. Also, the exclusivity is not just about difficulty.

At the end of the day. I hope they add a cat form into the game that you enjoy, because the sense of entitlement I’m getting from you, and folks like you, is getting pretty insufferable to deal with.
They have released a fair number of cat forms during and since Legion, none of which was anywhere close to comparable to the mage tower appearances. Some people like the drab, fussy look. But the only appearance that is anywhere close to MT cat form is druid of the flame from a cata raid.
Conclusion: these are popular, therefore there will never be another released that is remotely equivalent. There will be more cat forms that next to no one will use because they won’t be distinctive.
How people like them, or not, is all subjective. I think part of the popularity is the exclusivity and scarcity, leading to people being upset they missed out.
I disagree completely. For any individual it may be subjective, but across a population it is 100% a data point that can be determined.
The appearance is distinctive in a way that no other of the new drab appearances are. People like them and ask how to get them without being aware they were only earned during Legion and are no longer available.

Putting it back in the game temporarily and then making a big show about taking it away is a giant L that Blizzard decided to take. You coming to the forum to make up a lie about me doesn’t change that one bit. They couldn’t have turned it into a worse PR L if they had intended to piss off people - which may be what happened.
