This has been the case for a while, but it’s especially awful this season.
With a full clear of the raid, you can expect to get 1 piece of gear on average. With 8 M+ runs, you can expect ~3 pieces of gear on average, and that’s assuming you only do 8 runs.
To get full Hero track vault from M+, only need to run eight +2’s, which are braindead easy. To get full Hero track vault from raiding, you need to kill 6 Heroic bosses, which isn’t that hard, but H Stix, Sprocket, and Bandit are clearly much more difficult than a measly +2.
To get Myth track from M+, you only need to complete a +10. To get Gilded crests, you only need to complete a +7. To get Myth track vault from raiding, you need to kill at least 2 Mythic bosses. This is pretty much impossible at this point in the season with pugs. To get 2 slots, you’ll need to kill 4 bosses, which will be nearly impossible for a pug to do this season with how Stix and Sprocket are tuned.
M+ is so vastly superior to raiding when it comes to gearing up, and imo it’s clearly caused much less people to raid. It feels like I’m seeing barely any groups listed.

I do not understand why, in mythic+ only, mythic+ gear is not just 13 ilvls higher and delete the vault? Then, double raid drops. They have the solution with PvP already and don’t use it for some reason.

It’s an old argument. Think Blizzard is trying to drive numbers for M+ currently.
Raid loot depends on how it is being distributed, my personal experience with either roll or loot council is maybe a piece of gear every 3 weeks. Pass is 95%+ of my actions in a raid.
As too M+ loot, my experience is every 3rd dungeon drops a piece, and every 4th drop I get might be a slight upgrade.
Where we really get an advantage is via the vault and populating 4-6 slots with heroic drop potential. That and the ability to transform a tier armor piece to tier. Delves at 8 you can pug easy and 8 of them is 3 shots at 649, and as you pointed out 4 M+ at +2 will give you 2 shots at 649.
You'll M+ and you'll like it.
- Blizzard since M+ has existed
The gearing differences bother me greatly. Delves are too fast, M+ is too fast, raiding is slow but expected to M+ and Delve. Good ol’ player metric exploitation tactics.

That’s because most people are running in guild groups.
My guild doesn’t invite people to run heroic when we do a quick clear. We just do it.

It’s wild seeing these posts when Mythic raid still gets the best weapons and trinkets.

I just wish you could get the next highest upgrade track from the raid like you can for Mythic plus.
I don’t know, full clear of Heroic gives one slot of myth track in the vault, something like that.
For a lot of people their only chance at myth track is +10s outta the vault. Delves give hero out of the vault and Mythic plus gives myth out of the vault they need something from raid with the next tier up.

I agree. Double raid loot.

As it should considering it’s harder

Haha no
If you want myth track do mythic raid.

Why not? I’m sure there is a reason they don’t do it but I don’t know the reason.
I don’t really want myth track for myself, I just find it weird that mythic plus rewards myth track gear from “lower” content but the raid doesn’t.

Myth track isn’t awarded from mplus nor should it be. If it were you would get heroic out of the vault.
You can maybe argue about hero track disparity. But raids are significantly better for myth track gearing.
Mplus gets 1 mythic track a week, full stop.
Raid gets 1 guaranteed, and then a slow but steady stream of bonus loot. They’ll be hitting full myth many weeks ahead of an mplus player.

But you do get myth track from the vault for 10s in mythic plus don’t you? That’s my point. I’m confused
It’s a very interesting situation to be like 2-3 weeks into the season, farming 4/8 H… and realizing there’s like 2 drops in the raid that are going to be… slight upgrades for you. And that’s it.
Blizzard seems to think it’s ok because there’s Mythic Raiding… but don’t actually look at the conversion rate between Heroic Raiders and Mythic Raiders. And what’s even more staggering is the first few bosses of Mythic are usually EASIER than the last in Heroic… and yet, that still isn’t enough to get most Heroic raiders to even go 2/8 Mythic.
It’s simply too hard to organize Mythic raids - the conflict/drama that’s involved in telling 1 or more players they aren’t good enough to join a Mythic team… or the need to deal with pugs or recruit in your guild to make it to 20. People used to do it when it was the only way to progress but now it’s much easier and far less stressful to tell everyone: Just do 1 +10 a week for 10 weeks and that’ll probably be good enough.

For the express purpose of getting heroic pieces only. Myth pieces are vastly more abundant from raiding, hero track pieces from M+.

Hmm I think a better answer is if everyone in raid has 4pc tier or tier at the slot that the boss just killed drops, to instead of dropping a tier token, drop something else either from his loot table or have a separate loot table that it rolls from for any boss where tier is not needed.
Also not against you kill final 2 bosses, it gives one raid slot at track above what you killed them at. Most guilds don’t Mythic raid simply because of the 20 requirement, that and by time most stick Heroic on farm folks are ready for next season.

There’s probably minimal conversion going on. Mythic raids are stuck on 20 man static size, and instance locks instead of boss locks like it should be.
Mythic raiders are the loudest proponents of maintaining 20 sized raids and instance locks. So they’ve received the roster boss they wanted.

Snoozay is saying M+ dungeons do not drop Mythic track gear

Not a big enough improvement. Raids quantities are just much too low for the modern game.
