The GDKP ban worked. The economy is far more healthy than it was in 2019 classic

Flasks are 100g right now. In 2019 classic they went for 300-500g. High-end raiding was inaccessible if you didn’t swipe or file for unemployment.

Banning GDKPs reduced the demand for buying gold, and the economy is reasonable for normal players as a result.

Would I prefer if blizzard perma banned gold buyers, hired GMs, and routinely updated their anti-cheat? Yes.

Will that ever happen? No.

Banning GDKP was the 2nd best option to put some check on the amount of RMT in the game, and it worked.

They are 150-300g on Era with GDKPs…

And we can raid one naxx and get a 3000-10,000 gold payout.

200g is double what they are on anniversary, I don’t think you are making the point you think you are.

And that’s definitely all honest, hard earned gold. Not a copper of RMT, you promise!

How fast can you farm 100g without using AH (which is full of gold buyers on anniversary)?

I bet you in time it takes to farm, with GDKPs you get a flask in like 1/50th the time of anniversary.

In naxx - with just payout - you’d get average of 25 flasks in 2 hours - so 12.5 flasks per hour. What farm does that in anniversary?

This was because they (blizzard) flooded the market with resources VIA making BL drop off all high level herbs and making BL spawns more frequent.

This has nothing to do with GDKP.

2 hours farming elemental fires. Can very somewhat depending on if the alliance competition i gank decides to layer and move on or bring an army out for blood.

If you are selling them on AH in anniversary that is just as much, if not more, illicit gold than are in Era GDKPs.

Enjoy farming for 2 hours for 1 flask when you can get 25 flask in that time on Era by just running a fun raid

Yeah all that illicit gold for 8g essences of fire.

But not for the 300000g gressils :joy:

Those warriors have been raiding each week for a year saving their payouts. But yeah stay mad that banning GDKPs basically only benefits bot-runners and actual players have way less access to consumes

You can’t have a good faith discussion when we don’t even live on the same planet. I’m sure that guy who dropped 10k gold on one item is less illicit gold than the 100-200g farmed per week by a normal player.

you’re ignoring the facts tho… Also I don’t even GDKP…

Unrelated… I am saying that on anniversary a huge % of players are just buying a few thousand gold per month to buy consumes. Thus anything you sell them (elemental fires) is getting purchased by illicit gold.

We don’t need to buy gold on Era, we can attend old raids, help players, and simply save our payouts for consumes.

Leeches who buy gold to buy consumables have much less demand for gold than someone who buys gold for a big ticket item in a GDKP.

Those same leeches buy gold for consumables with GDKP in the game, plus ridiculous amounts more to buy raid gear. The demand for gold balloons dramatically which means more gold in circulation.

You are arguing supply and demand with a guy that thinks vanilla raiding is hard. He will never understand.

And all that gold ends up in the hands of raiders, who… raid.

Anyhow enjoy your gold buyer fest that is anniversary - I’m sure your economy is wonderful and spending 2 hours to farm for a 2 hour flask is optimal for some, more power to you.

Oh no playing the game is bad!!

I’d much rather raid log. That’s an enjoyable way to play the game :joy: these gdkpers man

Like I said, enjoy farming elementals for 2 hours at a time for a single flask.

I personally rather pvp when I play and every so often raid.

Afk farming mobs in the world just doesn’t do it for me, but that’s just me - some find it thrilling i’m sure.

I PvP a lot when farming in the open world. There is a mage that loves my main spot that I always find there to gank, and he comes back for revenge with buddies. And I bring in people and it’s war over the spot.

Glad you’re having fun.

I’m sure everyone on anniversary is spending 10 hours per week to farm up their consumes and having a big ol world pvp blast - zero chance that a huge percentage of them are buying the gold while the spam BGs and raid log.

I’m sure they all have an extra 10 hours a week to spend doing that

Yup, been a huge success.

The fact that the GDKP organizers and swipers keep whining in the forums is a great indication what a good job the ban is doing.
