The gatekeeping from groups is insane. I am ilvl597 and can’t get into a single mythic +2. My rating is a big fat 0, so people will neither accept me nor join my group. I am being completely barred from doing further content. What am I supposed to do to get into +2’s?

join communities or Discord groups that are made of people like you, looking for people like you. You will find groups extremely fast.

Uh, I was late to season start, so I didn’t get lvl 80 until heroic Tuesday day and was super behind on keys. I also barely touched raids all last week. I am now ilvl 610. Pretty sure all the CE people are then at least 5-10 ilvls above me. See where your problem is?

Dungeon name, key level, maybe add a “pushing” if you want to keep going.

If you’re a DPS, you have to be tenacious and try not to take it personally when you get declined or passed over from groups. Eventually you’ll get an in, build rating, and be more likely to be invited. The DPS to group ratio is huge.

You are one of hundreds of dps applying. It’s not gate keeping it’s just that there are lots of options to choose from. Start your own key or join a guild or a community.

ive made a couple new btag friends just the last week and a half, including an awesome aussie. been having a blast playing on the WME voice comms, too

I mean… it has been that way since the game started so Im not sure why is an issue now.
Back then Thottbot, and Ventrilo, and Guild Forums were huge and you also needed to step out of the game to progress.
Hell, I remember the days when you had to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION on the Guild’s website, to get accepted.

I have a 610ilvl on my ret that I’m disgustingly good at and have great numbers. I counted because I just expected it and find it funny, 57 attempts to join the roll over keyboard easy TW black temple before someone accepted me. Then I proceeded to live at the top of the dps meter the entire raid. Don’t take it personally, people are just awful and it’s the way it is. This is what blizzard has created and delves are the solution. I know they are not for everyone and even they have their limitations as well but it’s better than wasting your entire night being declined and angry about it
Hmmm… the only third party stuff I need to play the game properly is the MonkeySpeed addon to check on my sled’s speed when I’m sledding across the map.
…and don’t forget to ask if folks wanna do whatever the key turns into after! I think folks leave the group after they don’t see anyone chatting, but most of the time when I ask “you wanna do more?” they stay. And, don’t hesitate to btag friend them! You can always remove 'em later if you just don’t play

Just keep at it. It’s Week 1 and there’s tens of people applying to groups at the moment. Like the others said, I’d just start your key and wait. If not that, then I’d hit up a PVE community or guild 
At least it comes with a free poster.
