The game seems even more empty now?

Not in my experience.

I’m going to dispute that description of the solo playerbase

Have you ever gone to a football stadium in March and wondered why there were no fans there? Or how about a baseball stadium in January?

It’s the off season. We are between releases.

Who is selling all the runs/carries that supposedly plague the LFG tool if all the raiders aren’t here?

They re-subbed just to make bank! Carry groups(not guilds, that an advertising ploy to get around the communities rule) they never left, they are the same ones that were in those communities. Do you really think that Blizz was actually going to get rid of them? This game would have died months ago if it were not for the massive amount of token sales these “communities” bring Blizz!

S4 is a reward for the “communities” and token sales, nothing more

I Hope at DF This games take the lesson.
Yes Big ilv power make player want to get boost
Better spend a bit of money than spending times

Yes Bigger ILV power making booster job easier with his team ilv power.

This ILV power gap become bomerang to all casual player who just wanna enjoy the game.

Games devs need get income. Carry community earn gold.
Just don’t forget casual player wanna enjoy the games.

ILV GAP is a part of MMORPG
If ILV GAP power to huge it will make games not fun to play.

it probably depends when you are in

High end players are still a relatively small segment of the playerbase overall, and that’s the segment that stands to gain the most from S4, so naturally that segment returning isn’t going to be felt too much unless you’re part of it.

Personally I sat out most of SL due to a combination of being too busy IRL (turns out the process of buying a house and moving across state borders keeps one occupied for months) and sheer lack of interest thanks to Shadowlands’ plot/story being so weak. By this point I only log in to scratch the WoW itch occasionally and may not play regularly again until DF releases.

Yeah, this is a big one. DF isn’t that far off and it’ll reset everything anyway, so why bother. At least with BfA there were hilariously broken gear corruptions that most players could chase one way or another and have fun with but SL S4 lacks even that.

I would be playing more if I could list my keys. Right now all I can do are Callings and LFR. Once that’s done I have no other choice but to log out. I know you miss me but life isn’t always fair.

season 3 was getting boring anyways. I was kinda sick of the same dungeons

I would have come back for slime cat but since it’s Normal and up only…meh, not happening.

…Before any strange people go digging through my account why yes! I did get to 60 and abruptly stop playing! I have no legendaries, have barely done the dungeons…

I’m not sure I can articulate why I bounced off Shadowlands so hard. It might be that I was actually around for most of Battle for Azeroth and when I hit level 60 in Shadowlands it looked like I was going to be going through that grind yet again. It wasn’t a fresh enough experience and I was tired.

Been playing FFXIV and GW2 instead.

what would bvring you back

Slime cat is tempting but a big thing would be if the experience boost had lasted until Dragonflight and included rep boosts to help max level characters get caught up.

If you got a 60+ in classic swung by shattrath.

It will pick your spirits up. Or fill you with dread for a moment lol.

I conquest capped a few retail chars and said I am done this week. Literally done…I don’t work for free lol. I need conquest…at 1200 I am cut off. Probably won’t see much retail till friday now. to hit the new new cap. I really hate conquest crap.

this char cleared her zangamarsh and is now doing Shattrath area.

At first I was a going damn…all these people!.

then i said damn I hope these horde 70’s aren’t noob hunting as I left the sanctuary of shattrath.

Not too bad a time. Jumped once or twice about it. questing and skinning parties ran not much hinderance. tbh I vanished more for bad accidental npc mob pulls than ditching horde roamers looking for thrill kills.

As I said, I AM a solo player because I CHOOSE to be, did I not say I spent my time in raiding?.. I am not a newcomer, my original account from the days of raiding was banned, years ago, because my involvement with shady people in a shady Guild, and a lot of us were banned by association.
Just goes to prove your comprehension skills are practically nil…

I have said again and again, the experiment was to see how accessible the raids were to solo players and new players, Swifty hasn’t anything to prove, he is also a player whose name is well known in the wow community and in the history of WOW. what part of it was an experiment eludes you?

Swifty as I remember was a great PvP player. Many PvP players are weak on PvE. Swifty is not exempted to the gating of PvE groups. He is not popular on PvE.

I remember I was with this elite guild doing Naxx40 in Vanilla and a PvP player (Commander rank) joined us. His DPS sucks. I understand as he is not a PvE DPS player like us.

Season 4 is not accessible by Solo players. WoW in general is not really accessible by solo players. WoW IS VERY ACCESSIBLE by players who group. FYI. Solo players are the weakest players of WoW. Why? They dont have gear from dungeons and raids.

I mean casuals are the majority
What were they given to tempt them to play again

I am Casual… less play time but not a noob.

Modern WoW is very Casual friendly. It’s raining with Gold. There’s QoL. There’s time gates where you are not required to do 24/7 as hardcores can no longer leave people behind even if they play 24/7. Modern WoW has Mythic+… it’s like a mini-raid where you could complete it faster than raid, easier than raid, and has rewards arguably better than raid.

Look at the Vault. Doing 4x complete M+ dungeons per week would give you awesome loot. Let’s say 1x M+ dungeon run is 45 min. 4x M+ dungeons is like 3 hours… 3 hours in a week? That’s very Casual.

Of course when you are new, you may need more hours to practice. Everyone started this game as a noob. But repetition improves your muscle memory. Only then you could improve. It’s better to wipe, die many times in dungeons but later improve than skip dungeons. Skipping dungeons means you would remain a noob.

I wish new players would be able to learn this game. WoW is really fun. The most fun games in WoW are in Dungeons and Raids.

Weird flex but ok

All i asked was what did S4 do to attract the casual player. You know the people who dont have time to really raid or pug for hours on end every week.

My honest answer is… MMO is not good for players that dont have enough play time. MMO is a game of grind. The more time you spent on your toon, the more powerful your toon would become. If you are Casual less play time, not willing to make an effort, your toon wont progress much on MMO. You would have weak gear/ weak toons. And weak toons wont be able to access some areas (like dungeons). Your content would be limited. And you wont be happy.

But modern WoW is Casual friendly. Mechanics are soft grinds not like the old WoW. You dont need 24/7 to have fun with modern WoW.

Me, I used to be a hardcore. I was perfectly fine during old WoW era.

Then I became Casual after Wrath of the Lich King. I wasnt able to raid again… Was able to do dungeons but I really cant access Raid. Cant commit to elite guilds who could access the full content (Raid and highend dungeons). I was not happy. I keep playing as Casual but not happy with the content I do.

Then modern WoW came… Legion. As Casual, I need to group but not to commit to a guild. Legion started the Raid Finder Tool. I just join thru Raid Finder, kill 1 to 3 bosses then leave. Success.

My 2nd issue as Casual is I dont have enough play time to get Gold. How would I raid without consumables, enchants, flasks, elixirs, potions, food buffs? I would be have a weak toon if I dont have consumables. If people on raid see me weak, they might not invite me. Consumables is a must. But I dont have enough time to grind gold to afford consumables. Legion’s answer is… they started WoW Token. It’s cheap and legit. Yeah, I bought gold for consumables. And I was able to raid again. Success.

I have limited play time but I could access dungeons and raid. I am having fun again now as Casual.

BFA and Shadowlands further improve gold making. Now, I dont need to buy WoW token anymore for consumables becoz Shadowlands is raining with resources (meat, fish, herbs, ores) and gold. Paragon gold… just do your dailies and weeklies. It’s easy. Just play the game.

Accessing Dungeons and Raids is the fun I seek on WoW. It attracts me as a Casual player.

A computer game has Final Boss. The Final Boss of WoW is not on Solo gaming. It’s on Raid. Before you could raid, you need to do dungeons too. If this is not the game you like, I recommend not playing an MMO. If you want less competitive MMO (easier), there’s many games out in there that is not WoW.

LOL something about leopards and face eating. “Casual, why you mad about no casual content”
