Their masculinity is threatened and have dubbed looking halfway decent unmanly and more girly. Thus “Barbie dress up game”.
I feel bad for them truly. Style is for all genders.

Hey I waited a decade to transmog my formal dangui. I will revel in more transmog.
The issue is that despite the fact that there are many different possible ways to play a big game like this one, there are also a lot of people who think that the way they play the game, with all their idiosyncratic personal restrictions, is the only right way™, and everybody who plays differently should be forced to play the way they do.
An article I read at one point use the term “scrub” to describe this type of player. I don’t think that’s right, but there should be a word for it.

Have you played pretty much any other MMO out there today? They are all largely funding themselves off outfit, mount, and pet sales.
The Quest for Looks is everywhere. Once the concept of transmog became a thing, it was copied by most developers as a money generation scheme.
Try ESO, everyday you log into a “Whats on sales today” page. WoW’s shop integration is minimal in comparison.
And its not just MMOs…

I’m not sure where you’ve been but a LOT of players have taken pride in the looks of their gear, their mounts before transmog became a thing.
I don’t see much difference between customizations in the barber shop and the clothes we wear in game.
Do you also have a problem with people who change their eye and skin color?
This game has always been about dressing up, killing things, and having fun.
OP mad cause their transmog is bad.
I’m on twitter for art / landscape photos. Only section that is like that is mainly the furry section.

when they decided that this game ISNT just for raiders and M+ players and CASUALs need something to do too
Ion explained this in the Preach interview. What he said was that WoW provides a lot of functionality for players with a lot of different interests. There are raids, mythic+, dungeons, questing, PvP, professions, transmog, the list goes on.
It’s unlikely anyone does all of these things on a regular basis. So to say WoW has become, the one item on that list that you don’t like, is wrong.

Idk but it’s awful. Most mmorpgs are like this now. They just become a garbage wasteland of mounts, pets, toys, and transmogs.
The game play outside of that is just DDR with friends.

That’s all fine to give casuals more to do but Idk think drowning us in transmog stuff is the right way to go. Transmog is fun for a few mins and then you’re back to being bored.
