allied races like highmountain and mechagnome should be a barber option, not an entirely new race for people to make a new character on top of the 30 max level characters they already have :\
MORE customization on already existing characters would be a welcome addition, rather than having to make a new character to see something new and cool.

uhhh⌠my most recent 120 is a maghar priest. if brown orcs were a barbershop option instead of an allied race he couldnât exist. no ty.

this is him. armory hasnât caught up. he dinged today.
They could just open up the pointless class restrictions and then add the ARâs as customizationâŚ

I still canât get over the fact that Mechagnomes canât wear pants.
I would rather have clipping problems than straight up just not wearing pants. Same with the whole hair disappearing with certain helmets thing.

Itâs an obvious way to stretch subscriptions and to keep us playing longer.
Personally, I donât mind.
you could have just as easily created a green priest and made him brown in the barber.
nope! regular green orcs donât have the option to be a priest. he literally could not exist. just like maghar canât be warlocks but green orcs can.

mechagnomes should be a barbershop option, highmountain tauren, not so much. mainly cause mechagnomes are just gnomes with limbs cut off, so⌠a barber could do that. highmountain though⌠not so much. i mean, they can grow horns with magic, but highmountain are born highmountain. itâs like asking to be able to change your skin-tone at a barbershop⌠waitâŚ
They need to add more customization for sure. But why not for core and allied races?
I would love to see more customization for sure but obviously the allied races are just way more than that.
Step 1 for me is getting every class available to every race though.
That is the level of customization that should just be default in this game at this point. and the fact that it isnât makes no sense at all to me.
As you said, 15 years later and we are still letting minor lore dictate what race we can play?

Iâm not sure if mechagnomes would work for barbershop, cause they have unique animations. The ones like Highmootain that are just antlers, or Lightforged which are just tattoos are the ones that should be barbershop.
I only say this cause of how the mechagnomes âtickâ when they move. I havenât tested it yet cause my graphics arenât great but itâd be nice to know if they âbleedâ oil when they get hit.
so youâre on board for tauren warlocks and green orc paladins?
I tried my best to advocate for this wen people asked for subraces. Sadly⌠Blizz gave out subraces in the form of AR instead of customizations for everyone.
Why not? Itâs an orc.

green orcs donât have the ability to be a priest. they have the warlock ability instead. brown orcs can be priests but not warlocks.
you kidding? a barber could just take a butcher knife and- SHUNK! remove their arms and replaceâem with robot arms. lightforged have a big ceremony ânâ stuff, and get filled with the light, so⌠not sure every barber could imbue light-energy into folks (though gold-eyed belves make me wonderâŚ).
I agree with the first part, but not the second. A whole new race is a bundle of new character customisations. Itâs the foundation of the story of your character. A tauren canât just flip a switch and become a highmountain tauren on a whim. I mean if you just want customisation options rather than races, why should we have any races at all? Why not just âalliance characterâ and âhorde characterâ options?
So the customizations wouldâve been simply that. I see what youâre saying.
They couldâve added some classes to those races that made sense. They did once before.
These are probably the least of the worries for lore you could come up with. Those two are more culturally opposed to those two classes than anything else. Undead druids and paladins as well as void elf paladins would be way weirder.
cause orcs, trolls, and tauren are different races all together?
