The game genuinely feels dead

I mean…why is the game dead then? Lol? Shadowlands didnt have particularly great balance. It’s basic entry level psychology

Its like the majority of the player base are 25-55 year old players. I even have some 68 year old coworkers that play this game.

Could just be perspective. I don’t feel the game’s dead at all.

I don’t think the game is dead because whenever I click Solo Arena and then click the “Join Battle” button I get into a game instantly, which seems like something that would only be possible if there were tons of people playing

not surprised after all the things Blizzard has done recently.

It could also be possible if theres 2 healers in the entire game atm and you’re playing one of them while dps has a 28 min and often 50 minute queue. That is dead.

IDC about cosmetics lol They could give away free month sub, and i still wouldnt come back to this.

You must not be playing DPS. DPS que times can go for as long as an hour. My “USUAL” DPS wait time is about 45 minutes.

Comparing Dragonflight to Shadowlands is a difficult thing to do. PvP was very active during Shadowlands. Shadowlands also launched during a pandemic, where a ton of people were working from home, or unemployed and couldn’t go anywhere. All video games were at an all-time high during the pandemic.

Nah it’s the point we are in the patch is all.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much unless 10.1 comes and it doesn’t change for the better at least for a bit.

Okay but that doesn’t make the game dead, it actually means that it’s too popular with DPS and not enough with healers

Hasn’t rated solo shuffle broken like every participation record? Also the gear grind didn’t motivate me to play in Shadowlands at all (I mostly only used unranked gear), but I did play way more solo shuffle in SL because healing was more fun

I’m not sure. I haven’t seen anything regarding it, but it is obvious that SS is very popular and is taking away from the 2v2 and 3v3 arena queues. I’m having trouble finding S1 stats from SL to compare it to.

the game does seems look dead. i rather do a lot of quest rather not to be broke. that is what they say. time is money.

I cant find it but someone had posted that the numbers now are lower than the lowest portion of all SL… and it’s a new expansion. This isnt a good trajectory

Cause once you pretty much get handed full gear what do you have left to do

3s has low participation but Solo Shuffle has extremely high participation. Easily comparable to the highest participation seasons the game has had, actually. But solo shuffle siphoned all of the 3s players away so 3s has no participation and is deflated.

BG queues are longer for alliance. Horde usually has an enlistment bonus and queues under a minute. A lot of this is because alliance racials have been dominant in pvp for a while so all the dedicated pvpers have been NE / Dark iron.
RSS has way more DPS than healers. Roll a healer if you don’t want to wait in queues.
people don’t skirmish because they have RSS now.

Yeah i agree tbh. I dont think it was the best move on blizz part and honestly believe they need to reverse it

I have been alliance since um…2005. For a massive portion of that time, horde was the dominant pvp faction and it was the entire inverse of this scenario. I am not transferring my 17 year old warlock to a different race at this point or switching mains after that length of time. I would rather take a long long break than do that.

Especially in S1 because even pve’ers were doing rated for faster gear upgrades. Hell even I had one very old WoW friend who was suddenly pvping when he hadn’t really done it much before. That died out fast though…

I’m sure the pandemic helped, but WoW hasn’t truly been at all time high since Wrath.

Enjoy it and play the game!
