I resubbed for 10.7 after a month and a half break just to see if anything felt different and I’m routinely in bg queues for 10 minutes, 25 to 40 min solo shuffle queues, even a skirmish is running 3 to 5 minutes.
I feel something drastic needs to happen with gearing or SOMETHING to get the carrot back on the stick because i haven’t seen the game this dead in literally years. I dont know if i ever recall a 10 min random bg queue…maybe waaaaay back when they were first launched.
The heck man…i spend 80% of my time afk waiting for queues. This isnt fun. I do some 2s and its ret ret ret ret ret every game.
I did a skirm on my ww and a Prot paladin literally doubled the damage of myself and a feral. What is this. Why is a tank doing 35k dps.
It’s not the ammount of people queueing that’s the problem. Something within queue itself is broken and breaks more and more with each xpac. Lately I have been exploring private servers and even though they have only a small fraction of retail playerbase, queues are next to instant all the time.

Timing/faction plays a big part of activity but it is noticeable, taking from a conversation earlier this week I do think the world (real world I said it :)) in general has changed over these past years.
It’s more than just the game imo.
Oh for sure at the right times this game feels as great as ever, bustling.
It’s almost like a lot of the player base has other things going on now too, the waves could be effected by this.
Most of the people that I used to BG with are now running keys and preparing for raid nights. I’ve even made the switch on several of my toons. I used to play BGs across 7-10 max-level toons, now I only play on this toon and my shaman. The rest are PvE.
The game can be super popular, but still have long queue times if there’s an imbalance somewhere.
I’m guessing you’re playing on the more popular faction in PvP? Alliance in this expansion?
There aren’t enough healers. Way more people play DPS. The ratio in the RSS queue isn’t 1 healer to 2 DPS. It’s probably like 1 healer to 10 DPS. So, the DPS queue times get longer and longer.
Not sure about that one. It probably depends on time of day, faction, spec, and matchmaking things. For example, the system might be trying to form a team for a healer. You’re waiting around for another healer to queue up.

Tbh likely unsubbing ill ride out the month but this is legitimately awful…and I’ve tried at various times throughout the weekend even and it was the same at 10 am and 3pm and 10pm…like literally speaking more than half my in game time im in a queue. What’s the point
This game is becoming less about factions and more so about just the player base as a whole. That’s why cross faction grouping is now a thing.
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to expand out a bit for you. You’re playing a Void Elf, make a Blood Elf. They’re almost similar except Blood Elves are far more superior. Try it, you’ll like it.

Horde was asking for short queue time + access to 80% of lfg pvpers while alliance couldn’t pug arenas or rbgs. Now rated is cross faction so time to equalize queue times by pooling all horde and alliance players into the same bgs
Between me, wife, son… we have 6 accounts. As of this month, all 6 are unsubbed. Just nothing to do other than sit in a que and wait. Not how we want to spend our time. I mean maintenance is 4 times a week now and 45 minutes ques just isnt hitting all cylinders. This game had a great run, but its just dead now.
BG queues at 70 are broken, I think. Because the queues in 61-69 bracket is about half that of the 70 bracket. So either the queue is broken somehow, or that many people are really downranking to the 69 bracket to avoid having to PVP at 70, which honestly is just, lol. I can believe it.
I was able to get my 4-piece pvp tier set at only 950 rating… what is my incentive supposed to be after that so I can be motivated to get to 2200 rating?
It also doesn’t help the situation when there are no Legendarys and the fact that it takes 3 weeks to socket one piece of gear.
The cycle of pvp in this game goes blizzard buffs a class everyone simply logs off and logs onto their character of the now busted class and proceeds to full gear it in 2 days cause of dragonflights gearing and then proceeds to become another 4 shotting people with his turned off. And people who are not interested in rerolling to meta just quit the game and that’s why you que into nothing but ret and why the que times are so long
