"The game caters to raiders."

Which is funny because you can literally earn Tier without raiding now. The game has never been more open to all paths of players.

I used to spam random battlegrounds consistently every expansion.

I just wish I could do that again, otherwise why am I paying a sub if I’m just going to be treated like a second class citizen in this game?

It’s been explained to them time and time again, but they do not listen and they do not care. I suspect folks like them are just trolling at this point.

The catch up gear is for raiders to raid the current content, if they missed the last patch.

There is no other content in the game where the % of dev time spent vs. the % of playerbase experiencing that content is so lopsided.

You can pretend there never was casual content, or that casuals never had any source of gear, or there never were casuals before. But the fact is that 80% of the playerbase of every successful MMO is casual.

I don’t understand why you’re confused about the differences between this expansion and other expansions. Or maybe you need to misrepresent it for some reason. Raid loggers seem to be enjoying it. That suggests they are the target demographic.

Removal, nerfing, or trivializing of what was formerly casual content means there is little for casuals to do besides the chores more raiders drop the instant they no longer have to do them. Which really isn’t anything like having the sort of choices that were available in BfA, or earlier expansions.

Expecting casuals to continue to play for love of the game only is kind of dumb.

the catch up gear is literally not for raiders.

You can get normal raid level gear (252) from casually doing ZM, what more do you want?

You mean tier sets, that have historically always been locked to raiding and now are accessible to people who do next to nothing? Making those more accessible to everyone is definitely not catering to raiders.

The game is tuned and designed towards Mythic raiding.

Every decision is made for Mythic raiders, so that they can have fun.

You seem to be under the impression that it’s just an ilevel thing. It isn’t. The system itself needs to be engaging and feel rewarding. Korthia was close to a good style of a system. ZM is a cluster and a severe step backwards.

You’re just like the others that think ilevel is all that matters. It’s not.

Classes nerfed because of raids.
LFR locked for weeks/months. We still can’t fight the Jailer there.
Classes balanced around tier bonuses this patch, raids are the #1 way to get those.
The entire in-game story and lore is out of order and makes zero sense if you don’t run raids.
WF/TF removed because raiders were upset they were “forced” to farm non-raid content.
Shadowlands completely removed the endless grind that raiders whined about in BFA.
Anima was purely cosmetic and offered zero power progression.

M+ is the one thing that has gone against raiding, but it is hardly “casual” content for many players. M+15 is not casual no matter how many times people say that here.

The game has had catch up gear and/or alternate gear progression for a long time.
BFA was one of the best expansions for gear acquisition that gave everyone a chance at upgrades and some form of character progression.
Raids and M+ were leagues ahead of every other option even then.

I also think a lot of people lump M+ in with Raiding since it’s all coordinated end game PvE content that can be tough to break into.

Nobody on your raid team has ever bought a 226 anima piece or some crafted gear from the auction house for a slot they were missing on a new alt? I have a hard time believing it.

So you want no new raiders? How long will that keep raiding afloat?

In this game, that is not considered casual. M+ are more competitive/challenge mode type content. Casuals tend to play 5-7 days a week for a couple of hours each day. Some may dip into the M+ pool (I have) but to casuals, it is more about social than it is about trying to beat a M+25 within the timer.

I honestly don’t know who the game caters to now. Seems like few people here actually enjoy playing it.

I still have fun but I guess that makes me a minority.

This response doesn’t even make sense. Catch up gear is to get folks caught up to jump into raids (or w/e content they want to dabble into).

truth hurt huh?

I’m responding to someone who said that catch up gear was literally not intended to catch people up who wanted to raid.

I understand that there are people who believe that the game would be way more successful if few if any people had access to content. These are the same people who are opposed to catch up gear. And no doubt they expect to show off their l33t gear in town and have nobodies whisper to them how awesome they must be to have such amazing gear.

who do you think buys the wow tokens for the world first race?blizzard makes a ton of money off of the guilds buying wow tokens each patch.

Considering it’s a strawman pack of lies, nope. You’re another one.

You can’t imagine how bitter players have become. Anyone that thinks this game isn’t accessible for multiple types of players is lying to themselves because WoW is 100% not being solely catered to raiders. Hasn’t since probably WoD.

Folks not enjoying the content != content being accessible/casual w/e.
