So does this way to save and activate world buffs work everywhere? If so, can it be used when attacking an opposite faction leader, or when fighting over a Black Lotus node, or during open world or even BG pvp?
Why would such a change be made to Classic? To fix a non-existent problem?
I agree, we shouldn’t have those changes at all. But if they wanna change something i rather removing wbuffs in instances over that Choroboom thing, since it is more in line with what Blizzard would do if people exploited wbuffs back in the day.
I don’t like the wbuff meta, it kinda have a bad influence in my game cause a lot pugs and guilds that want endgame content demand it, limiting my choices.
But the way it works now i feel no obligation in following the world buff meta and at least in my realm we still have guilds and pugs that u dont need to become a world buff slave, it is a problem that minmaxers created for themselves.
I believe that the reason why some people are still chill about it is because you can’t make 40 man raidlog and spend hours collecting buffs around the world in a group with people that have a job and/or family (most don’t even have an alt to play in the meantime).
We just want to log in and have some fun playing the game with friends/guildmates like it was back in Vanilla days.
I hope we will see less wbuffs in the Classic Era since we will have a decrease in population and turn ins and it is awesome. But adding that Chronoboon thing will make more people demand it, becoming even mandatory in some cases, since following this meta will no longer require raidlog to keep the buffs.
In short words we will lose our excuse for not doing something that is not fun, not intended and not needed to play the endgame properly and it will no longer be a problem that they created ONLY for themselves anymore.
Some metas are healthy and help ppl clear the endgame but others (like the world buff one) are toxic and makes the game feel like a second job instead of a fun and challenging experience. A good game designer/company should know the difference.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to use the displacer and have it apply a permanent aura that automatically bottles world buffs? Only way to remove the aura would be to use the supercharged thing and apply all the buffs in it.
If the goal is to remove raid logging, it seems like that’d be a clean kill.
Isn’t there a cast time? So you can’t slap it while in the middle of a fight.
You could drop it before a battleground starts, but you could take world buffs into BGs already. Same with faction leader bosses. Plus it costs 10g every time, so it’s actually a tiny gold-sink, which the game desperately needs.
If you don’t think the world-buff meta isn’t a huge problem for the fun of the game, you’re nuts. I want to play my main whenever I want. This allows that. Works for me!
Exactly, they demanding a change for a issue that they created for themselves.
World Buffs was never intended to be stacked and preserved by logging out of the game in order to join raids that wasn’t tuned with those buffs in mind as well.
Exactly. And why Blizzard decided to make a trashy change like this to Classic is a mystery to me. The game has been great without this change for 15+ years. Tell the raiders to just get over it . . . or continue punishing themselves with their stupid meta. Not my problem. Not Blizzard’s problem.
The game was designed over 15 years ago. Why change it now because people are stuck in a mental box. Screw them - let them play for fun or grind in a stupid guild. The choice is theirs.
It is an exploit that would had been fixed in Vanilla days, we werent supposed to stack buffs, it doesnt even make sense, a game design that requires player to logout.
If u want a FIX for this exploit, change it so you lose them in instances or making the timer drops while offline. You wont feel obligated to stack buffs and feel stronger anymore.
Also i believe this is not what the playerbase want, currently most ppl hate world buffs, the ones who likes it are just way louder. Now, thinking about classic era realms, ppl that cares about wbuffs will progress to TBC, they already cleared everything in vanilla, it is easy to see that in this same post cause who likes the Chronoboom says that it is too late and vanilla will be dead once TBC arrive.
we were always able to stack buffs, some people used to grab 1-2 to help kill bosses. People were aware of them, it was never an exploit.
We didn’t have the organization we do today to stack them, weekly for 2 years. that’s what’s different…stop with this myth that we were all stupid and unware until suddenly 2019 happened.
Yes, you were able to stack them back in the day, i never said that you weren’t, what i said is that they were never INTENDED to be stacked, so you need to EXPLOIT the game mechanics by logging off in order to stack them all.
Definition of Exploit = An exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, GAME SYSTEM, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to THEIR ADVANTAGE in a manner not INTENDED by the game’s designers.
So unless you think the game designers wanted you to raidlog, which is kinda weird, it is indeed an EXPLOIT.
Some people use to collect 1 or 2 buffs just for the hardest content of the game, it was not even close to the meta we have today.
No action was taken to prevent it back in the day cause it did not had the proportions we have today in Classic, they never imagined this degree of insanity we have today.
This is an old game released in 2004 that should remains as it was, with only minor tweaks, core improvements (graphics, engine, performance…) and exploit fix. We dont need new items, npcs, consumables, mechanics…
If you want to stack all those wbuffs to feel stronger you should deal with the drawbacks. It is the same as someone asking for easier raids, faster leveling, more item drops, adding custom NPCs in OG/SW selling custom items, gears, fancy new mechanics… You can find it in a Fun Pservers or even retail WoW.
Yes, good point. So dont change anything, keep everything as it was. No chronoboom, no class balance… If u want to stack buffs just raidlog, it is your choice, like stacking warriors is the raid leader choice.
This is my last reply to you, you are the one not being consistent, i am saying since my first post that we shouldn’t change anything. Keep it as it was. It is pretty consistent.
If you want to stack buffs is your problem
If the raid leader want to stack warriors, RL problem
If someone want to play 18 hours / day , 7 days week to reach R14, his choice
If you want to RUIN your experience playing a video game it is YOUR problem, not MINE, so dont ask for changes for a problem you created to YOURSELF.
That is exactly what he has been saying. The meta that has grown up around raiding and world buffs is a player problem, not a game problem. Classic should not be changed to make buff stacking less painful.
