The future of SoD

What do we think the future will be for SoD? Blizzard said our characters will have a place.

In my opinion TBC SoD with new raids and dungeons and PvP events would be huge.

What do you think?

Classic +.

I would love some servers that remain in Classic Era, a few in TBC, and a few in WOTLK. Unrealistic, but I like to fantasize.

They’ll drop these characters onto a dead era server once the sub money dries up, like they already did with SoM, only this time we’re going to have most of our power (and in some cases, class identity like rogue tank or mage healer) stripped away in the process.

That was the whole point of sod tho.

Y’all expected way too much.

They left the door open (and still have) by avoiding the question this long just in case SoD was profitable enough to leave the servers up. It’s clear at his point that it’s not going to happen like that. I didn’t expect much, but radio silence is worse than nothing.

That, or they didn’t have any kind of plan and didn’t have any idea what they were going to do with the end of SoD, which is entirely possible too.
I may very well be giving them too much credit assuming they had some plans/ideas from the start about what to do with these characters.

I think it’s Classic+.

If you watch those developer interviews, they hint at the idea like it’s an elephant sitting in the room.

I am all for it. Give me a Classic+ feature complete expansion and you can take my money.

I see you caught that too

I think there will be many different seasonal servers with new things added to them before they consolidate it all for classic plus.

After naxx and maybe some suprise raid they could be working on, im betting its a trip behind the barn.

Or TBCSOD

You’d better hope player count stays up high enough to justify development on a new raid

They are already doing Kara crypts

Although splitting hairs, kara dungeon already exists in the game, it just wasnt finished.

Kinda like how outlands AND ruby sanctum are in it too, just not finished.

SoD was announced and sold to us as Classic+.
“It’s everything we love about Classic+” is a direct quote from Aggrend as he closed out his SoD announcement at Blizzcon. They knew they exactly what they were delivering and who they were trying to sell it to. I for one am not going to fall for it a second time.

Are they?

Hope it’s not a couple ghosts thrown in there with an instance portal

Anything made with Aggrend at the helm will automatically be extremely bad
