Is it just me or does Blizzard seem to only focus on PVE content?
I am an avid PVP player both on Retail and Classic.
I really don’t want to stop playing, but I feel like there is no future in the PVP sector.
Thoughts?

I assume anyone that was serious about quality pvp left for other games years ago.
It seems like that is gonna be an option for me. There is no exciting factor to keep me drawn into it any longer.
It’s mostly a CC game and with Retail Dampening, it just sucked the fun out completely.
I am so sorry
I mean it’s kinda obvious. PvP in MMOs dont really attract well and the game mode has been dying year after year. Just take a look at what they show at Blizzcon. The last time the AWC was hosted at Blizzcon was BFA. Its hard to say how to fix PvP because most people juat cry out for nerfs on class X but also Blizzard has kinda made arena more like Team Deathmatch than skill expression. You can literally die through huge defensives and healer defensive externals because “Lawl I am a ret and popped wings.” or “Lawl I am a warrior and just spin to win.”
Short and sweet of it, Blizzard doesn’t care because they don’t play the game mode.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Always was. And always was bad because of it.
Epic BG’s are the true WoW end-game.
Vanilla cinematic is 100% PVP.
PVP.
What else is it going to be?
The issue is that m+ bled into every other aspect of the game. Hyper mobility and micro cc’s are two examples of things that m+ has brought to the game that absolutely gutted the way that PvP plays.
Combine things like them with modifiers on top of modifiers and it makes balancing a nightmare.
You can’t separate the way abilities work from PvE to PvP. And because PvE is easier and more accessible to the majority of players, it’s what more people play, and thus what grabs the most dev attention and resources.
PvP was awesome until arenas.
RBGs could have been awesome, except it’s always been filled with the usual suspects, who ironically wonder why it died.
Ive seen the future… endless rage and report abuses from rated random battlegrounds… so much hate…
Apparently we’re getting a new battleground in TWW and possibly rated solo queue BGs. That’s more than I expected, given that PvP isn’t very highly represented compared to other forms of content. I’m pleasantly surprised and I’ll take it.
Ok maybe a little bit of copium there but after many years of gaming I’ve learned to make the most of what is available to me
PvP has virtually no cosmetic rewards, infrequent tuning, and longstanding issues that haven’t been addressed (Bugs, disliked maps, etc.)
So it’s not completely abandoned, just massively ignored.
I can’t wait for battle ground blitz to be a thing.
Take away PVP and what do you have? A complete full game for people to do many different thing.
Take away PVE and what do you have? A dead game.
PVP is just something else to do while playing the game. PVE is the game. So they focus on the main aspects of the game. So many pvp games are out there. And they last until the next one or next version comes along.
Retail world pvp is certainly dead.
Instanced PvP may cling to life for a bit but it just isn’t as popular as it once was.
It has always been about cc in wow pvp, since day one.
PvP seems overrun with two types of players:
1> After 20 years, still fighting in the road. It’s exhausting that even basic strategy is completely lost on such a large portion of players.
2> Cheaters. PvP always attracts cheaters. And in the end, they win the battle of attrition with the Devs. ESPECIALLY in this game where they barely cared in the first place.
Just add more comp-stomps with smarter AI. Watch “PvP” participation increase.
“WoW PvP is like playing Mario Kart where someone slaps the controller out of your hands every 5 seconds.”
