Classic wow is not a game of exclusivity. Anyone can have anything they want if they put in the time and thats the way it should be.

Both PVP systems are garbage but I will take the welfare rank 14 gear with a smile on my face.
Both systems kind of suck, lets be real
the first is an unimaginable time sink
the second is a very much a manageable timesink
Both of them have the exact same problem that they aren’t competitive or pvp in any manner, the existence of av completely breaks both systems into non stop av prison, while the other bgs cannot compete in the slightest, av isn’t far off of a snowy molten core in playstyle

Basically this argument comes down to those who have infinite time to play wanting the game to reward infinite time spent playing vs normal (and the time spent getting 500k honor isn’t exactly normal for most well adjusted adults) folks who want to get competitive gear from pvp with the limited time they have.
Ps, feeling compelled to grind out r14 just to do 20 year old raids slightly faster is mental illness.

Not really. I’d call myself a casual.
A casual who…leveled several alts here in wrath on AV CTA weekends. and retail too, I called this place home in the 15th KAV for at least 4 alts there.
I’ve many hours in AV, honor to get to aid questing sometimes when done (and die less in AV lol). and skip over questing not liked. Or skipped entirely to get the 80.
Av is leads to determinstic gear for some. 40 av runs, honor is getting something.
40 dungeon runs? Lets break that down . 20% drop rate on wanted item(s). 8 runs of the 40 is getting it. Now /roll has to like me 1 of those 8 times. Even with removing ninjya, 2-3 dudes will legit need roll like I will.
are you arguing that the current version requires infinite time or the previous incarnation of the pvp ranking system.
if you want true classic then you’re asking for the old ranking system, compared to that this is a breeze.
No everybody who is rank 11 isn’t going to make rank 14. The grind doesn’t even begin till rank 11. A small % of those rank 11’s will make it to rank 13 and an even smaller % will make it to 14. The only thing your post tells me is that you’ve never done higher ranks.
Oh no in a game mode that is temporary and not retail, someone else can get a rank that I have.
there does seem to be a big drop in moods as people catch up with the me firsters, see more complaints about competition for ore and such as well, haha but yeah, fastest is only top dog for a few weeks and the people that caught up aren’t burned out
yeah the grind does start at 11, but unlike the old system where just reaching rank 12 was 1/2 the grind under the new system at that point it’s going to be about the same amount of honor each week to progress it’s just more weeks, i suspect nearly everyone that makes rank 12 will make rank 14.
Have ranked to either 13 or 14 under every version of the system. The 500k honor Threshold system is plenty difficult once you hit rank 11 especially with AV griefers out in force. Stop complaining the original vanilla system was completely insane and no rational person wants it back. Go find a local Sadist club to join if that it was your thing.
Protip: Casual players are not doing 40 hour weeks in AV for multiple weeks at a time.
