Do you guys ever wonder if these forums existing is a good thing?
Like I’m on here pretty frequently (maybe that’s the problem) and once you sift through all the rage and salt, there really isn’t much left to sift through. I originally came here looking for conversation on the game I’m really passionate about or to offer help to people with questions but I feel like the way people treat each other on here is gross and along the way in trying to fight it I’ve started doing it to people without even realizing it. So I think I’m going to take a vacation, maybe a permanent one from the forums. This has made me stop and wonder if this forum is actually doing any good for anyone. So if it is, drop a comment, if you think it sucks as much as I do, say something. Or feel free to leave your verbal abuse, out of context quotes, hot takes and trolls below. it’s pretty much the standard here so have at it.
But for a serious response, yea these forums are a huge mess at times, some people make it their job to just cause as many problems as possible and nothing ever comes from it
Sure there are also those who just want to spend as much time as they can genuinely trying to help and give advice on things
With remix and people complaining that they didnt get maxed cloaks in the mail upon creating a character, i find theres no actual conversation about the game happening and its sad.
Instead its tons of misconceptions, intentional controversy, or just straight up QQ because its sunday/tuesday
I like seeing what people are upset about. Once in a while I’ll get a different viewpoint. It’s only a time filler at work though, very rarely do I visit the forums on my own time.
I like that there is an organized space to talk about the game. Even if a lot of it is complaining in some fashion.
I’m old enough to remember when the internet was brimming with different forums and blogs and posts, and I’ve always been under the impression that that was a better age. I do not like the modern era of everything has to be “reddit”. That whenever you search something on google you have to add reddit to the post or you won’t find any real opinions or answers.
I have never seen anyone ask for a cloak of max level to be mailed to them upon first character creation. I have seen people mad they didn’t get to exploit frog farming. I’ve seen people annoyed that the 300% didn’t transfer to alts as it was implied and seen on PTR. But never once someone say, “why didn’t I get a max cloak on my first character creation?!?!?”
The only thing I don’t like about the forums, is moderators can get you suspended or banned for the most stupid things. I might get suspended for saying this.
