It is more like Legion. They took away stuff so they could give it back to you when you leveled. With some extra fluff on top.

I sometimes feel like they went ā€œOkay, we know Snowfox is a forum addict. What could we do to promote that kind of behavior?ā€ and then came up with a bunch of features, implemented them, and thatā€™s what we have now.

sort of, but not really. only posting links to any site was taken away. everything else that comes with the trust system is new. Boy if you donā€™t think Iā€™m about to turn every OT thread I can into an image board u got somethin comin

also I accidentally discovered you can continue replying to a post while browsing other threads/parts of the forum. Thatā€™s friggin awesome.

Not entirely. There are limits to post and likes until you level up. Those were not there before.

Well, since youā€™ve only given 1 like so far, Iā€™m not sure lvl 2 could be much of a bonusā€¦

edit: Are you waiting for an increased number of likes before you go on a like spree?

it takes literally ten minutes to lose the posting cap, and the like cap is to prevent people from spamming their way to like level 3, as far as I understand. Regardless, if youā€™re actually using 50 or more likes a day on the forum, I think you need to broaden your internet horizons.

I was thinking about that. If it saves our posts, as well as relays when we are typing themā€¦ that means the mods can actually watch the ā€˜posts about to be postedā€™ for a thread - possibly 404ā€™ing it before that next storm wave even hitsā€¦ based on what people are typing.

Very possible, though I find myself wondering if any of the forum moderators have the time to sit and watch what people are typing, or if the API even allows them to see whatā€™s being typed before itā€™s submitted, rather than just the fact that something is being typed.

No reason the code couldnā€™t do thatā€¦ just a matter of it was written to or not.

The real forums start at trust level 3.

Iā€™m waiting for the catch-up mechanics to kick in but Iā€™m also considering buying a boost to L3.
