The Forsaken: New stories, allies and more enemies!

Hey all, this thread is to address the Forsaken — From the story, to game-play content and even some customisations to follow!

So  … Something I see brought up frequently by either: the Forsaken players themselves, those that simply enjoy the story & lore – or simply those that can appreciate the gameplay aesthetic & emotions conveyed by the Forsaken (or all of the above) :point_right: Tend to bring up that they feel the Forsaken story has become rather:

  • Obsolete
  • Mundane
  • Ruined
  • Boring
  • Outdated
  • and trivial …

Now I myself may not entirely agree with all of those, however to a small extent I can see where they’re coming from and that a few do have somewhat of a point. :person_shrugging:

Spicing things up!

Anyway, something I feel that would give some oomph to the Forsaken as a people & playable race, along with giving some additional intrigue towards the story would be the Forsaken seeking out other undead throughout Azeroth who were wrongfully killed or even horrifically slaughtered — Then twisted into undeath, but had ultimately began to or have already seized: Free Will

This would involve:

  • Having questlines that revolve around the Forsaken seeking out undead who were wronged in life which resulted in their deaths and then in-turn had their cruel fate rubbed in further with the sour taste of continuing their recent or long-since-passed ended lives amongst the world — through undeath.
  • The Forsaken would do this by starting their search of these wayward & yet kindred souls — at apex points of necromancy, nexuses of undeath, life-twisting magic locations and other areas that rattled the dead to ‘life’ so to speak.

Upon the Forsaken finding said-undead who fit the bill (as per above) – They would seek out ways to help them finish unfinished business, absolve their lives left (or their deaths met) and ultimately: Dispense justice / sweet dark vengeance to those that wronged had themMuch akin to how Arthas had wronged the Forsaken.

Some examples of these locations for the Forsaken to visit, to which there will be questlines to deal with enemies and beings that ally with them on these adventures are:

  • Karazhan
  • Waycrest Manor, Corlain and other bewitched areas throughout Drustvar
  • Scholomance

Then to bring in some undead into the ranks of the Forsaken’s friendly-list that don’t necessarily fit the “Former-human” check but are still undead, you could also have:

  • The Tomb of Sargeras
  • Nar’thalas
  • Blackrook Hold

– So if players wanted a change of scenery amongst Forsaken encampments, we have some ghostly elves to bring back some familiar aesthetics & relics from where they long-lingered before

The new enemies to face from all these could range from Drust, Witches, Necromancers, Demons & Warlocks — along with Naga, cultists and even other undead who seek to grow their power through the subjugation of others.

Some customisations with the suggestions above:

  • Arcane & fel scars (Karazhan)
  • Drust-magic scars & ritual tattoos (Drustvar)
  • Shadowy magic scars & carved or tattooed sigils (Scholomance)

Additionally, I feel the Forsaken could also use some more iconic characters – and I know JUST the one that could join alongside the Forsaken throughout this tremendous journey & give a darker senses of humour back to the roster of their kind — Moroes! :yum: Our favourite undead butler from Karazhan!

:point_right: :point_right: Anyway guys ~ Feel free to share your thoughts, ideas to add and whatever intrigues you’d love to discuss upon from the thread written above

What about scarlet?

I mean… Scarlet crusade is reflection what forasken are being hated and hunted.

I feel like it’s probably on the way, but I’d like to see lordaeron itself rebuilt and resettled. I’d like it to still include the undercity though. I feel like that would represent their duality nicely. They are undead, but have made some reconnection to their heritage as well.

Oh, and upright male forsaken of course.

I have to wonder how they’ll handle: Forsaken, Worgen, and Demon Hunters going forward? None of these three are making new ones… and they’ll eventually fizzle out as enough people die from unnatural causes and even natural ones in the Worgen’s case.

There are always ways to add more Fursaken.

Maybe not them, but I personally have 3 of me as spares.

Should be kept in ruins. Lots of spiderwebs, littered by waxes and faintly illuminated by candles

Just release Sylvanas from her Maw sentence and then we can spice up Forsaken stories.

Personally I think Scarlet Crusade is an overused trope on the Forsaken story :person_shrugging:

  • I mean hey, don’t get me wrong :open_hands: I’d love to see them return someday and for us to have a whole heap of drama to hash out :facepunch: buuuuut when something is over-used, it sort of loses its flare. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

So I think a few new stories with new undead generations who have been wrongfully & horrifically killed like the OG Forsaken were and face off new enemies who had used their deaths to fuel their own ambitions much like the OG Forsaken had (with Arthas / the Scourge) — I think the potential could be grand

For instance:

Having the Forsaken with their kin that were recruited from the free-willed undead Drustvar folk who have a unique beef and score to settle with the Drust & their witches who killed them — would be AWESOME!! :star_struck:

Please, just return our Dark Lady to us.

No Calia… ever.

Dark Lady watch over you.

Death to the living, and all who defy the Dark lady.

I keep saying that the surface of Lordaeron should remain a ruined husked. a Tombstone if you will while underneath we expand a necropolis of undeath. Far larger then any of the other cities.

ewwwww Burn the twitch… Burn the Windrunner

Lordaeron City up top needs to be fixed and fully a city instead of just tents and ruins.

How about a quest for an upright posture. And some beards for the blokes.

Forsaken need beards now. :dracthyr_yay_animated:

Always felt that the biggest issue for the Forsaken is that they are confined to only former humans of Lordareon. Where are the undead Tauren, trolls, gnomes and dwarves? Couldn’t t at least one shipment of grain have slipped out to the other races?

Arthas wasn’t that selective in raising his initial Death knights so why Kelthazod?

I always felt the death knights should have been the Paladin equivalent class for the Forsaken. Just like a necromancer should be the Forsaken equivalent of a priest.

Honestly, I’d love if Lordaeron was extended / broadened out – Akin to the size-proportions of Stormwind & made into a full city (above & not under) :dracthyr_nod:
