I mean, for a serious transmog collector they will need to have 16 max level characters to collect all of the appearances we’ve seen so far, and would probably have to do the full campaign on all of them.
Fully agreed. I believe it’s more of an RPG choice when my player power isn’t artificially restricted by a faction choice and I can choose aesthetically.
I want to stay night fae. Give me cosmetics for loyalty and let me choose my powers separately and switch them based on what I’m doing or what I need.
Yeah really not sure why people who keep insisting it’s supposed to be a super meaningful choice don’t address that you’re still able to swap, just with difficulty.
Ion needs to either go all in or make it easily changeable. This gross middle ground just upsets radicals on both sides.
Here’s the issue. I appreciate the Covenants because they remind me of the factions in Planescape, as well as the factions in WOW: I find one that has a world view and aesthetic I can vibe with and, hell or high water, that faction affects how I view the world and the world views me.
That is a role-playing choice, and I can absolutely respect that.
The problem is those damned covenant abilities. Either I can use them to shore up my spec’s weaknesses for a more well-rounded character or I can use them to maximize my spec’s strengths for a more specialized character or I can use one that seems fun, meta be damned. That’s a good choice. If I am lucky, they will also belong to the covenant that I want to join…not the covenant that I have to join.
Ya get me? The fun gets ruined by the meta. Like I’m a MM hunter (rare, I know) who doesn’t like vampires: they’re my least favorite fantasy trope, but if I want to be better at single -target damage (which will be fun), I’m going to have to take up Flayed Shot (which looks meaningful and fun), and that means joining the Venthyr (which is meaningful, but not fun).
I mean, cripes. It would be nice if duplicating covenant abilities so that they overwrite the base covenant ability were a part of the soulbind system, but…eh, what can you do, right?
im against it. it needs to be harder to change it. the problem we have here is RPG aspect to obsessive end gamer players wanting it not to be and dont really care about the RPG aspect when alot of others specially in Role playing community do
Sorry do you really think those complaining about restrictions would ever be in a mythic with you? Most of the people who are the toxic-minmaxers have guilds to play with.
This thread wasn’t designed so i wouldn’t be impacted. I’m fine, I got three shamans and a guild full of killers.
