I got just gold instead. Untested content and were the true PTR as always.
You first ten per week are guaranteed to drop shards, not per day

Yeah it will take 9 weeks to get all sets.
You can grind goblins in between but it will be a LONG grind.
As you can see, you got ten chests today with zero shards

Reminds me of the people who just farmed frogs all day on Timeless Isle back in MoP and then complained that WoW was boring because it was nothing but farming frogs.
But the Diablo event is literally nothing but farming goblins.
There is no other content in the event that gives you currency to buy the sets.

I have 12 shards and haven’t killed a single goblin, you can get them from other places.
From where?
I got 6 each in a couple of weekly chest events, or it might have actually been from delves, I don’t remember.
I just play the game. The stuff comes in if you just play.
No it won’t. I got enough for 4 sets in 2 hours last night. You get a reduced chance for shards after your first 10, not a zero chance.
Weekly chests aren’t part of the event, though.
People want to do the event to earn shards not do a bunch of irrelevant content that gives veteran gear and coffer keys they don’t need.
The weeklies give both a normal Cache plus a Hellcaller Chest. You can obtain Hellcaller Chests by doing those without even killing goblins from portals.
I went to do an empowered delve yesterday before work to pump up the belt, finished up 100 stones from last week’s event for dwarf boy in the process, and got 12 hellfire stones.
In about 20 minutes.
Never even SEEN a goblin.
You realize that each sets costs 40 shards, right?
12 shards is quite insignificant

I’m not even going to touch this event until the weekend, lots of working people play WoW.
So you agree that doing the delve quest IS NOT part of the Diablo event?

The classic toon was the first sign, yup.
But you are also failing to understand that ONLY the goblins drop the mount, so people are forced to farm the goblins for the mount and it would be nice if we could get all of our shards from the goblins without being timegated so heavily.
That will be all.
