Any help on this most confusing quest would be appreciated.
You’re going to craft a legendary. You need the parts to do so. The vessel is crafted by BS, tailor, LW, etc. the missive come from inscrips and you need a memory for the last part.
I think you can buy three of the things you need from the AH

Yes, you can buy the base piece, and the missives from the AH.
The soulash and legendary power you will have to get yourself though. Seems like just about every seperate wing of torghast has a legendary power rewarded from it provided you complete it on a high enough layer. Since you have to do a bunch of torghast for the soul ash anyway, I’d start there.

wowhead tells you what to do. some of the top comments also tell you what type you should buy. there’s also walkthroughs for what spec you are so you know whats the best one to make and with what items
Don’t do like I did and buy the crafted rune vessel armor pieces BEFORE they’re needed for the quest…apparently equipped/pre-bought items don’t count…
You can also check your Adventurers Guide, under the Powers tab, to see where your memories drop.

You will need the legendary power/rune of course; look at the adventure guide (SHIFT + J) under the “powers” tab to see what is available, where to get it, and very importantly, which item slots it can be crafted into. Do not buy any item until you’re sure you have the right type.
