The Final Nail In SoD's Coffin: SoM Mechanics For Onyxia And MC

While Phase 3 Incursions did serious harm to SoD. Having Season of Mastery raids in SoD is probably the final nail in the coffin. After my guild blew up because of our 2 20 man rosters only 8 people of 40 wanted to still raid after we found out they were using SoM raids (we all played SoM and hated the raids) I decided to pug.

It’s ridiculous how many pugs fall apart on Heat 1 because the average classic player can’t handle 2 Living Bombs on Baron Geddon or cant properly move away from Shazzrah’s images, or struggle with Harbinger.

The devs completely ignored what makes Classic Classic this time around for the raids. Players wanted the same Classic 2019 raids but with increases to Boss Health and Damage to compensate for our increased power, NOT mechanical changes. No one wants Ragnaros to force submerge and unable to out dps the mechanic to possibly wipe because the average classic player cant do the submerge mechanic.

Molten Core (and BWL, AQ40, Naxx40) should be tuned for 20 players and allow up to 40 players like Onyxia and World Bosses. There shouldn’t be toggleable difficulties like Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3, there should be 1 difficulty.

The majority of players who play Classic Era, and SoD, want easy raids where they can relax and hang out with friends while having Beer (Soda) and Pretzels and turn off their brain and get some loot. That’s why the Classic 2019 raids were successful, they don’t want Retail raids.

The sad thing is, aside from the SoM mechanics for MC and Onyxia, Phase 4 is actually a good phase. The new dungeon DFC is actually fun. The real vendor is great and keeps players playing dungeons once they hit full pre-raid BiS so they can buy a couple of crafting reagents for BiS gear or to sell for some gold for consumes.

If Phase 4 had the Classic 2019 Raids but with increased HP/DMG and MC to have up to 40 players there is no doubt in my mind that Phase 4 would be popping off. Instead we have MC Heat 1 where more than half the pugs I’m in can’t do simple mechanics because the average classic player can’t deal with 2 living bombs at the same time on Baron Geddon and fall apart.

Whoever thought putting in the Season of Sweaty Andies encounters for the Season of Dads was a good idea shouldn’t have those decisions anymore.

Just looking at BWL and having to explain to all the raiders that it’s a completely different raid than what we were expecting, and that they need to do homework else it’s going to be progression all over again, sounds like pulling teeth.

I agree, adding SoM mechanics was a disappointment. Along with adding heat levels. Classic is a uniformed experience everyone experiences the same. Heat levels ruins that. I do commend them for making it drop the same quality of loot though just different quantity.

TLDR: Bad players who can’t do basic mechanics quit because gear isn’t handed to them.

I didn’t. You don’t speak for me :expressionless:

Same, that’s the only good thing about the heat difficulties.

I’ve cleared MC on Heat 1, no desire to go higher heat levels. Also heroic raid in retail and M+ rating of 2500 (for the mythic glow effects, only 2k this season because there isn’t a glow) and 1800 in rated PvP for elite sets I like.

When I want challenging raid content I go to retail (I’m excited for TWW’s new raid on heroic with my retail guild). I play classic to turn off my brain and relax and chill. In SoD I can’t relax and chill in MC because the average classic player can’t understand simple mechanics that are different from 2019 causing multiple failed pugs, leaving half the raid bosses locked out for the rest of the week on one of my 3 characters.

Literal skill issue

Because we didn’t want to redo the horrible SoM raids again? I cleared SoM MC and BWL and left because I hated the changes.

“Again” So, you have done them before, but can’t do them now? You can’t teach new players, or remind them about the “new” mechanics?

Yeah, skill issue. Sorry.

I can, on my 3 characters I have cleared MC with 2 pugs which had players who also knew what they were doing and it was smooth. MC and Ony are simply not pug friendly now.

Because most of the respond “you don’t pay my sub” etc. It’s like herding cats many don’t want to learn or simply incapable of learning them.

Not a skill issue.

if you wanted to raid the 2005 version of Molten Core, the Era servers still exist. have at it.

Except I sent my 5 lv 60’s into TBC because I didn’t want to pay to leave a copy. Would be starting from scratch and GDKP’s suck so not going back there.

Wait two weeks and you will be able to PuG it.

Then quit playing with PuGs for the time being?

You’re right, just a brain issue.

and I paid to have my entire roster across two accounts preserved for Era. still, if you want to raid the 2005 version of Molten Core then make a new character on an Era server and enjoy your 2005 Molten Core experience.

I wouldn’t be pugging if my guild, which I’ve been in since week 1 of SoD, hadn’t collapsed because of Blizzards horrible decision to reuse SoM raids…

Crazy. You guys had the only guild on the server?

SoD Vaelastrazazazazazaczs should cast Burning Adrenaline on multiple players.

SoD Nefarian should do multiple class calls simultaneously.

No, I have no interest at the moment in trying to find a new guild at the moment only for it to likely fall apart again come time BWL because assuming it’s SoM as well more guilds will fall apart. Stop being a troll.

at what point does this change from being monumentally bad at a video game to just sheer real world stupidity? if these people are the average it really gives credence to the argument that most people playing this game are completely clueless and should never be listened to
