My ultimate cope is they end WoW with World Soul Saga and then reboot WoW entirely with a new game engine, new servers, and they relaunch the series with the events of WC1

Context:

New release date trailer just went live. Xala’tath narrating and toward the end she says something to the effect of “now the final battle draws near” .

And true to GD and YouTube commenter form, many are going to cherry pick and bead in on that “final battle” part and draw their own conclusions.

I mean, I wouldn’t take it as literal, especially since Metzen said he’s capping off the first 20 years of WoW’s story and creating the next 20 years after.

Also, “final” is subjective and depends on who’s point of view. If Xal’atath is defeated, then yeah, it is her final battle. If the heroes of Azeroth triumph for the 11th time, then I’m sure they’ll move on to fight the void, Void Lords, maybe even Yrel and the corrupt Naaru. Who knows. All I know is, WoW isn’t ending any time soon.
