The Fallen Lion STILL Bugged

It’s been seven years and this STILL hasn’t been fixed. When I go to give Anduin Wrynn the letter he’s not where he’s supposed to be. He’s in the room to the side. Apparently this is due to having a questline that’s not finished. I sure wish I could find out WHAT questline that is. Or maybe ya’ll could just fix it so if start this quest it resets the phase or whatever the bug is.

Oh, and I don’t have ANY quests for the old world. Just Dragonflight and this one.

What I’m seeing is this in the comments for the quest on Wowhead:

It turned out that I had started the Return of the Black Prince storyline and was still on the quest Where the Heart Is. That one takes place in the same spot in Stormwind and includes talking to Anduin, then has to be turned in in the Chamber of Heart in Silithus, which I hadn’t done, yet. After I turned in that quest and came back to Anduin, he was highlighted as a quest npc and I also got the option to hand in the letter.

Do you know if you’ve done any of that and then dropped it?

Customer Support doesn’t fix bugs, nor are the SFAs here liaisons with the QA team.

But that does not translate to “I’m a customer, support me” in this neck of the woods. Its a helpful avenue for other players to lend their assistance with some infrequent assistance by SFAs.

If it does indeed turn out to be a bug, Ruffle’s post was spot on as that is the only place a bug will get looked at.

I did try to help? Did you see my post?

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea what quests I’ve started and dumped. I did notice there was one in the room to the right of the throne, I did that and now it’s High Exarch Turalyon on the throne instead of the throne being empty.

From what I can see online there should be a box with the dead king in the middle of the room and that’s not there so I’m guessing it’s still more quest lines missing to unlock this. At this point they should just unlock the alternate races automatically or give detailed directions on how to do so.

The best I can tell you would be to see if maybe you’ve completed this quest and to run the script:

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(58498))

If it says “true,” then see what this one says:

/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(58502))

If that says “false,” then this is what you’ll need to nab and complete:

If that’s not it… then I am at a loss. :frowning:

Oh, are you doing this for the Allied Races? There is a choice for you here, but it may not be the best one. They are going to remove the requirements for AR, it’ll just be a requirement of “hit level 40 on one character” and nothing else. But that won’t be until 10.1.5 and that’s a bit of a ways away.

Thanks again for the help! I haven’t done that quest line so I’m off to do it. Again thanks for the useful post!

I hope it helps! If not, I’ll keep looking around for you.

I worked in customer support for years, I was an IT director for a 600 person call center. I’m not sure if it would be well received if my agents started out with saying, “We’re named CUSTOMER SUPPORT but that doesn’t mean we support customers.”

I’m don’t doubt that for a moment. I was simply clarifying that on Blizzard’s forums, that is not what the term stands for.

What you were ultimately looking for was a game hint, although it may not have appeared so at first, and those are expressly forbidden by game masters via service tickets, though the SFAs may sometimes find themselves with a little more leeway. It just isn’t guaranteed.

Further, they aren’t responsible for collecting information regarding bugs or game feedback and forwarding them onto the appropriate teams, which is why that particular forum was linked above.

It gets worse, I tried that quest line and the king isn’t there even after starting that quest line. I’m just going to grind out the last expansion because I didn’t finish all the story quests. At least I’m 70 so it’ll be easy. Thanks again for all the help.

Well that just sucks. :frowning: I’m sorry all of this phasing is causing so much of an issue.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t looking for a game hint, I was pointing out a flaw (AKA bug) in the questing system and I was hoping to see if others had found a fix for the bug. This was a secondary route along with the in-game bug reporting system.

just because they’re not in your log, doesn’t mean you’re not phased in order to accept a particular quest.

you may have done one quest in a chain, then abandoned it.

you may be in a phase where you need to go down to the docks and talk to someone there, and do a few quests.

it’s not a bug though.
phasing is not a bug.

Oh, then it’s an “unexpected program feature.”

No, but not being able to complete quests because of it is something to report. There are other quests that will phase in old and new together just so quests can be completed. This one doesn’t seem to be working that way.

Stormwind Keep has various phases.
It can’t be in all of them at the same time.
It wouldn’t make much sense to have Varian and Anduin sharing the big fancy chair.

As does Orgrimmar. And there have been plenty of times where I’ve seen all three Warchiefs due to quests.

Stormwind has also done the same. There’s no reason to dismiss someone’s issue, simply because “phasing.”

I’ve already sent in feedback regarding this and hopefully things can be made easier in the future.

stating it’s not a bug, isn’t dismissing it.

i provided various reasons for why it could be in the incorrect phase, and even suggested that they check the docks for a quest which causes phasing.

if anyone wants to make a suggestion in regards to seeing a change how this works, it would need to be submitted in game, or posted in GD/quest forum.
