The Fall of Hillsbrad - Story Overview

The Alliance is tightening its grip. Victory is within its grasp. Cineron, one of the longest serving Forsaken knows this all too well. Following the Battle of Dazar’alor, it has fallen to him to defend Hillsbrad for the Banshee Queen. And for the Horde. Though he is joined by Congorok, Speaker of the Horde to the Zandalari, he knows his forces are few…and his foes many. And with the shadow of his once post at Durnholde looming before him, Cineron knows this may be his final stand…

Hi, I am writing this Story, The Fall of Hillsbrad. I wanted to give a brief overview of this story before asking if anyone wanted a character (or characters) of theirs to feature. Anyhow:

  • The Alliance are invading Hillsbrad following the Battle of Dazar’alor to secure a land route to Lordaeron, with the intent of De-Blighting and claiming it down the line.
  • Story will primarily (upwards of 90%) be told from the Horde perspective.
  • Cineron, an Undead Warrior (an old main of mine long forgotten) will be the main character for a good chunk of the story.
  • Any featured characters not created/owned will make it through the events of the story alive (unless otherwise requested).
  • Story will be posted on a Chapter-by-Chapter basis. Chapters will be posted here (as well as one my DeviantArt account).

If you’re still in need of characters, I didn’t previously have a backstory for this one, so you can do what you want with him (if he dies, he dies :P)

Turas Deathsong, age 57.

Turas was an initiate of the High-Elf detachment sent to aid the Alliance, at the start of the 2nd War. However, during the first skirmish with the Horde at Southshore, Turas suffered a devastating injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the war.

Suffering such an Injury at his age resulted in greater mental scarring, rather than physical. Turas did not attempt to re-join the High-Elven military, instead choosing a life of a merchant. When Arthas sought the Sunwell, Turas could only stand-by and watch, as both his family and his people were slaughtered. Turas then remained behind in Quel’thalas, after being refused by Kael’thas’ forces.

Embittered, Turas spent the next few years learning to fight once more. Training under whomever he could learn from, and taking mercenary or guard work wherever he could find it. When Kael’thas returned to invade Quel’danas, Turas put his skills to work defending his home.
This victory had given Turas the courage to seek his fortune in the wider world, Turas unfortunately then fell to the Scourge’s second invasion of Lordaeron, and was resurrected as a Death Knight.

Years later, a missive from an old friend requests Turas’ return to Southshore, and aid in its defense against a fresh invasion.
