The faction walls need to come down

I’m so sick of not being able to invite people to groups or queue for heroic dungeons on alts or having weird trading issues like just bring the walls down man all characters can interact in all ways at all times. PLEASE

my fave part is when in df they were acting as if we were finally doing just that but it was just for story and a cool trailer scence. it’s not real in the game where it matters lol.

Adding to that, I want to be able to heal party members in overworld content no matter the faction (for some reason I always end up in overwhelmingly cross faction parties on my prevoker, for which I don’t even have talent builds for dev and aug)

But yes, cross faction random queues should be a toggle, whether it’s opt in or opt out I don’t care. Hell, opt-in will probably hurt the devs more if they realize how many people would check that box day 1.

yeah a little annoying if i want to trade gear after a run we need to both go back into rookery to give lol. when we group it gives a prompt that the group has been changed to xfaction. let it work like a proper group pls!

That wouldn’t necessarily be by preference. It would just be to cut your queue times in half for many that opted in.

So it wouldn’t actually indicate what you think it does. It would just show that people like faster queue times.

Personally think the current system is mostly fine outside of the issues of world content. People can throw together a 5 man cross faction group and then queue for heroics currently, can’t they? As long as you have a full group I think that’s how it works now.

I think the answer is to make your own group as it is for so many other complaints.

When i think about it broadly… if you can raid mythic xfaction and be in a guild xfaction, then you should be able to do anything ingame xfaction lolol. But tbh, its more of an inconvenience than anything imo.

So close … almost a haiku.

I think I agree with removing grouping restrictions, and trading restrictions. I haven’t thought deeply about the matter, but as long as cross-faction organizations are a thing, there’s justification for it.

Everything should be cross faction at this point, the “compromise” we have is functionally worthless when you actually try to make a custom group to try and do some queued content just to play with a friend on the other faction because you need a full party to do so (we didn’t have a single person sign up for the entire time we tried)

If it still has to be an option to have the faction split, let it be an option to not queue with opposite faction as an opt-out feature. Trying to say that this would massively increase queue times for said people that opt-out I feel are missing the fact that the logical end to that statement is that those players are a small subset then

Realistically, anyone who wants to work with the opposite faction should be able to, in this day and age. Quite silly that there are lingering restrictions to prevent this, when we see NPCs doing it allll the time. Can I really not just learn to speak orcish or common? C’mon.

If folks want to play in a faction loyalist bubble, that’s their prerogative—give them an option to not have to interact with the opposite faction. If it matters that much to them, then they should be willing to endure the longer queue times, etc. Cuz that’s how the world works; the less people you’re willing to get along with, the harder it is to get where you wanna go in life. If they want to play hard mode, go for it. But they shouldn’t impose that upon the rest of us.

Don’t care about that other stuff, but not being able to queue LFG cross faction is incredibly annoying. I am so used to not thinking about factions for dungeons that I forget, every single time, that I can’t level new characters with a friend if we’re opposite factions. It’s so dumb and outdated.

lol not a poem but kinda poetic haha

I’m pretty sure it’s a work in progress. We don’t know what the spaghetti code looks like that far down so they’ve been rolling out changes as they finish them.

I would faction change my Worgen to Undead so fast.

As far as I know, the only thing you can’t do cross faction is have a partial group queue for LFD and quest together.

Drop the faction barriers for all gameplay. Keep them for story. I want everyone to be able to play together, but the Alliance and the Horde need to keep their identity. The Horde has already become too much like the Red Alliance. This needs to stop.

Seems like a odd place to draw the line but maybe it’s an oversight or maybe there’s something there im not seeing.

Well, questing in much of the older content doesn’t make sense to do cross faction.

And Blizz has said a couple of times that they don’t want to force people to play cross faction in LFD, but did allow full groups to queue.

I think once a bit of time passes, Blizz will open up cross faction LFD queues. They’re just hyper paranoid for some reason.
