The expansion is bad but are you still having fun?

So I really don’t need to state the obvious that so far this expansion is pretty much a train wreck. I get that. However this does not mean that I’m still not having fun and I can’t make the best of the situation and still find a way to entertain myself in the game. I have pretty much done so by becoming an Altoholic.

I guess I’m just one of those hard headed people it will find a way to enjoy myself regardless. Blizzard is pretty much going to have to turn the lights off on me and kick me out to get me to quit wow. It’s hard to tell out of a sea of complaint threads in general discussion how many people are still enjoying themselves. Positive threads are pretty much a needle in the haystack.

So if you still found a way to enjoy yourself in wow please share in this thread what you are currently doing in the game to have fun

I play something else.

I raid 4 nights a week (3 on Mythic, 1 quick Heroic clear).
I do M+ 1 or 2 nights a week.
I do the Maw most days.
I do Callings a couple times a week.
I hit up some rares (never all at once, but I go through a rotation of a couple I focus on at a time.)

And then once or twice a week I don’t log in to WoW at all and do something else instead. Which is AWESOME and something that you couldn’t do in Legion or BfA; that’s the biggest feature of Shadowlands - no mandatory daily grind.

Edgy comments like this weren’t really requested nor are they needed but it’s always nice to hear from the peanut gallery.

I mean I’m not the one calling the expansion a train wreck. Talk about edge lol.

No but if someone says which did you pick and why? Pick red or blue I bet you’re that one person who has to come in and say I mixed the two. Even though you were asked to pick red or blue. The point is no one asked to hear from the mixers they asked to hear from the people that pick red or blue and why.

I shouldn’t need to explain to you why that comment was a waste of space but here I am doing so

Did you ask anything in the OP about a binary choice?

I like to fish in the rain in Revendreth and watch the raindrops cause ripples in the water…

Oh yes, and unlock mirrors in Revendreth that will hopefully lead me to a shiny one day…

I wish I could share your enjoyment for some reason all the mirrors cracked when I walked by them

didnt log in all week did a full clear of heroic last night hopin rekindle my love for the game instead all i felt was annoyed after another week of no drops

im not even doing callings at this point…

i do have fun sometimes randomly logging in and doing skirmish or bgs i guess but i dont think i can take this game seriously ever again

TBH the idea that WoW should be your only game probably leads to more burnout and boredom than anything else.

Though to answer your original question, WoW is a completely different beast when you play with a strong social group. It’s pretty easy to get my 10 M+ dungeons done for a week (ontop of raiding) when I’ve got a reliable group of friends to play with.

Absolutely 1000% this.

Also, I play WoW for the people I play with. I don’t think WoW, as a game in and of itself, is worth playing. It’s a social experience for me. Without that… I don’t know why anyone would play.

I got bored of making alts now that I have 6 level 60s.

To be honest…shadowlands is probably the worst rendition of the game ever, but I bought the expansion with in game gold and pay my sub with in game gold so I guess I can’t complain.

WTB pre-legion post TBC server.

This is probably the most based take to ever grace these forums. Doing one thing ends up to be pretty unhealthy for folks enjoyment. Breaks are natural. Buy a new game, play it for a bit enjoy it then come back when you want to.

maybe read it again… slower.

I personally blame stuff like AP and Titanforging for that mentality.

The game basically had infinite (albeit diminishing) progression for so long that the idea of you being done for the day, let alone the week is completely alien to some people.

I mean i too am playing something else. And it’s a mobile game that’s somehow more exciting than wow is right now. Sorry if that makes me “edgy” but it is the truth. I’m hoping they make it realistic for me to compete collections in a reasonable manner and I will happily play wow more though.

Problem is that you can never justify 15$ a month for this. If they just sell you the expac, maybe even 60$ and provide support for it 2 years with the additional payed services then sure. Maybe its fine, though i dont think the game is even worth that atm.
But if you pay 180$ a year and that is ONLY the sub itself, you better get so much content that you dont have the urge to play something else. And thats clearly NOT the case.

$15 is ridiculously cheap for a game that you play even a few hours a week.

Adjusting for inflation, the monthly fee should actually be $20. They should raise it.
