The Eternal Traveler question?

I know, I can check out wowhead for this stuff, and I did. But some people on there say this spot is best, or that one, then others comment saying no, bliz nerfed those spots! So I’m just a bit confused on the whole quest really.

I read a few people say, “After your first daily looting, you’ll get 4-6 echos. Then the drop chance drops until the next day”. But I farmed some blood trolls for 45 minutes and didn’t receive a single echo.

I Only have 4, that I got at the release of the quest. I get on daily, and do the embassy quests, and some of this, some of that. But haven’t received any echoes since release.

So my main questions are, do you still get a big amount during your first few lootings? Or was that nerfed?

And where did you find the best place to farm these at? I don’t want to farm, figured I’d just get them by playing. But it doesn’t seem to be so. so maybe if I farm the 4-6 for an hour or 2 hours a day, I can be done with this quest!

Thanks for any and all help!

I have no help to offer but I can sympathize. I’m in the same boat. I got 4 my first day and 4 my second day. Since then nothing. Granted I’m not farming for them–I figured they’d trickle in as I was playing normally but they aren’t. Maybe farming is the only way to go but I haven’t been able to bring myself to try it yet.

Go to LFG and look for an AOE group. I’m going to point out that sadly, this mog doesn’t show on our forum avatars.

Just play. If you just play the the game you’ll gather them naturally in no time.

The mog also tends to glitch in-game. Sometimes it’s a blue and white checkerboard cube. Once, it kept the wireframe but literally skinned it with my character’s skin. Creepy, that.

Very much this. I got most of mine while farming spare parts for crates on Mechagon, and the rest through regular play - WQs, raids, dungeons, whatever.

Haven’t even bothered, I got more important things to waste my time on

I think the drop chance increases greatly if you are in a five player group. I got it in under 2 hours once I started farming together with people in a five player group.

That’s generally been my experience.

Bad luck with rng. Most of mine have come from the blood trolls in the last couple weeks.

They only drop from humanoids.

I got 4 or 5 in one looting yesterday, so I assume it’s still the case.

Where ever you can kill humanoids. Like I said, I got most of mine from blood trolls, but I’ve got 10 or so while doing other random world quests that I happened to have to kill humanoids for.

It’s random. I finally finished it yesterday with normal play after about 2 weeks. I didn’t get a single echo for about 6 days while sitting at 35/40 and then I got 5 off a Naga.

None, just killing whatever for the first ones of the day is fine.

While farming for the bee mount, I’d get my first 4-6 just from the undead dudes/whatever near the mine/herb nodes id hit (since farming for jellys, figured may as well do those nearby.)

When doing the Darkshore rare cycle, I’d get them just killing the Naga around the Naga boss on the shore pretty fast.

Then I got the mog, which doesn’t show up on these boards so I look nakey!

I noticed that every day after the server reset (8am PST), I got anywhere from 4 to 7. Freehold was a great place to farm the daily handful. Very occasionally I might get 1 or 2 more throughout 6-8 hours of playing. So it took about 9 days to get the 40 echoes needed.

You get 4-6 daily from the first few humanoid/living mobs you kill. You also get garanteed drops from every Heroic/Mythic boss that are living creatures in BoD and EP. If you have a group that clears Mythic EP and can clear Mythic BoD for Jaina mounts, you’ll get a ton just from that, Heroic should be puggable (though I doubt many Heroic BoD groups still run).

I know some people enjoy the AoEing in a raid group thing at Blood Gate or whatever, but that is a really poor way to get it done if you value your sanity.

I’ve been at 5/40 for 3 weeks. They just don’t drop.

I don’t think this is true. Just things that are alive. I’m 99.9% sure I’ve seen people get them after killing Blackwater Behemoth, for example.

From my experience, I did daily farming up until about the last 10. I farmed at the blood gate for ~2 hours to get the last of the echos.
