The Eranikus nerf is heartbreaking and disappointing

Many guilds, including my own, were slowly and making progress on Eranikus. After 130 wipes, we had him down to 8% and were going to make a final push today. All of a sudden, he was nerfed to the point of being a completely brand new boss, and over 100 guilds have killed him in the last hour. It honestly feels like a slap in the face, and now half the guild already wants to quit playing for the phase.

If you are going to nerf a boss, do it with notice. Nerfing a boss without notice, before the lockout is over, during a progression race, was the worst possible way to take care of things.

Dude, SoD, and in fact all of classic, is not a “progression race”. There is absolutely no point in being competitive in PvE in SoD just based on class balance alone.

I agree on the communication point. Why did the SoD team stop formally communicating with us? Just tell us what’s up and when your going to do it.

A simple blue forum post detailing upcoming changes, or changes that just happened, goes a long way to keep us from guessing

I think generally speaking, they need to be better at notifying us whenever they make changes, whether that’s nerfs or bug fixes. We should not be left wondering whether certain changes or fixes have been made.

If you want super hard challenging raids go to retail mythic scene. Classic is for fun, not poopsocking.

My man if challenging raids and tryharding them is your thing then you would be much happier in retail

I play both versions of the game quite a bit and PvE was meant to be pretty accessible and easy in classic, wouldn’t want stuff too hard to begin with because of how bad class balance is in classic and how small toolkits are.

Its all about scope of design, these bosses are over designed for classic (its on era client its classic)
No one in their right mind plays a MMO for an extreme challenge (people that do are the statistical minority) and even if you want that speed runs and mythic raiding in retail are a thing

Takes retail mythic raid levels of pulls to NOT KILL a boss

Thinks this is ok and is mad it’s being nerfed

This isn’t retail with 4 difficulties to let people choose their skill level, there’s just one on SoD, and that number of pulls is NOT ok unless you’re literally not trying or going in short staffed.

I didn’t say he was, I said they took mythic raid levels of pulls. I’ve never needed more than 10 pulls of any boss outside of mythic for anything. 130 is the stuff that world first raiders put in during the race.

Hard content like that is fine when its the pinnacle or close to the pinnacle (muru, Cthun, Four Horsemen) but when the devs often talk about how limited their dev time just to release content this hard to then just spend dev time to patch it is asinine
