Remember SoM and how bad things were at 60? The pvp changes being in at launch means most people will be AFKing in BGs.
Consider adding the era pvp changes with the AQ patch instead of at the start.

The announcement states the ranking changes will be in at the start, they just won’t apply until the ranking system and BGs come out.
I’m not saying don’t add pvp until the AQ patch, I am suggesting that they keep the ranking system as it originally was until the AQ patch, and then after it’s released they should bring the era ranking changes to classic.
This would still keep R14 somewhat prestigious for the first half of the server’s life.

The honor system does not come out until p2 don’t worry.
I don’t think blizzard will ever bring back the OG rank unfortunately
Really has not been since patch 1.12 came out and nerfed it the first time in OG vanilla making it EZ mode compared to the 25% HK DR system that existed before Vanilla patch 1.12.

The honor system is not in until p2. That does not mean you can’t go gank people

not having honor in when people hit lvl 30 would be another gigantic failure after they saw how bad gating phases was.
Look at the road map, honor/ranking system in P2.
All of the best and most sustainable vanilla server hold off just a little bit for honor, older pservers did it at launch because it was a full 3 months to rank.
If you launch fresh with the honor system in day one, you will have thousands of rank 14s week 7, making the server DOA

Yes, the updated honor system is in at day 1, BUT THE HONOR SYSTEM DOESNT LAUNCH till p2 per the roadmap
