Been in the Endless Sands area for hours on different servers, what happened to the big three rares that used to spawn here? I’d like to try to get that mawrat mount and the slick looking mace. Can someone from blizz please look into why these rares aren’t spawning Thank you.

I’m not sure why these rares aren’t spawning, though try finding a group in Custom raids if you haven’t already that I’ve seen named ZM rares and such, it opens up layering among other servers. I farm rares every day for anima and there’s always rares around including the rares you’re not seeing.
Rhuv is never in Custom, he dies too quickly if he ever spawns again. I have chars on several servers, Tich a high pop server I was doing timewalking but everytime I left the instance I would ask if any of the big 3 spawned and it was always a no because there were several other people there waiting as well. I honestly don’t care about the regular rares I don’t have flying and they don’t drop what I’m looking for.
They spawn. Got em last week for the achievement. Took about 14 hours to get them all.
The Endless Sands rares, I believe, require other rares to be killed before they spawn. They don’t have a timer associated with them.
Essentially kill X number of rares (not sure on the number) and then one of the endless sands rares will spawn in that spot. I literally killed one of them a day or so ago on this character (didn’t get any loot from it though) so they do spawn still.
I think theres the same one from boxes that drops , its alot easier to get

Might be nice for a Blizz mod to give some concrete info but that’s unlikely so thank you for letting me know.
They still spawn at the same frequency, although you don’t see them in group finder as often now that the weapons are no longer BiS for casual, solo, and open world players.
Perhaps you should camp the exact same shard, so that you don’t miss it? Keep in mind that war mode on and off result in different shards (even for the same sever), and even the same server can put you into different shards if you leave the shard and come back, depending on population balancing.
People were initially reporting that you could forcibly spawn the dunes rares by killing elite mobs in the area (and some ZM rares do indeed work that way), but from my experience the dunes rares spawn based on a random timer of an hour or more.
It may just have seemed to people that they were forcing a spawn because they were there farming rare drops like the Domination Key and schematics for an hour or more, and so it was no coincidence that the dune rares would spawn while they were there.
I have seen those dune rares spawn on literally dead RP warmode on shards where I had the zone all to myself and was only farming chests and mats.
I get what your saying thank you. This char is not leaving, been in the same area for 4 hours now just farming mobs and chests still no spawn I’m going to give it about 6 hours then I’ll have to find something else to do LOL.
That is suspicious, as I typically see the dune rares spawn if I am in the zone long enough to do all WQs and daily quests, or if I send a couple of toons in to do the weekly.
Note: If you pop into Oribos even for a second, if you queue into any content, or if you join another group to do a world boss or other rare, you can miss out due to re-sharding or sheer bad luck.
Perhaps they do spawn based on zone activity, even though I have seen evidence that contradicts this.
Or there could be some kind of bug. We sometimes see hotfixes like “fixed issue that caused XYZ not to happen / XYZ to take longer than expected”.
