Honestly I am compelled to try HC realms when they come out. I am not a particularly skilled player but I AM an altoholic and I prefer the journey to the destination in Classic anyway.
The only downside to me is cutting out social features.

for me it’s 1 and done. i dont think i can manage getting more then 1 toon to 60 ontop of trying to full clear every raid on HC. i simply just don’t got the time. trying to better my life as is with stuff for our future that requires a LOT of saving/working.
the main reason i play WoW really is to save money since it’s cheap and kill time but having a daughter now it’s not like i just plan to stay home every day i have off and play WoW. got to take the family out and spend time with them. it’s okay rn though since she is little and mostly just eats and sleeps but of course when she gets older it will be different.

Yup using Hardcore the same way it is used in D2 will never see the day of light. Last thing they want is a player like you that decides to unsubscribe after losing their char. In D3, hardcore worked because you get to keep what you left in your stash so you are not really starting from 0 but it was still painful.
