Don't listen to the haters, good move on changing the name for the sake of your sanity.

Good luck!

I agree that it is a good move to change the name since I couldn’t tell who is who anymore. I regret bringing the first popular “War*” guild to ED. This place is a haven for emulators.

The name they chose is just meh. If their guildies were being honest, they’d probably give it a meh too.
I don't quite get this line of thought. As a title its short and gets tot he point, as well as easily understandable. It seems like your trying to find something to be negative about when the new guild name represents a transition from being a purely WPvP guild to a guild that does all facets of the game.

Personally I like the name, but if there are people who dislike the easiest thing to do is turn off your own character tag so you don't see it. And honestly it doesn't really matter what people other than Cari think because shes the GM and the power to change a guild's name is in her hands.

The tldr of it is this, if you don't like the name it sucks to suck, cause its more than likely staying for a good period of time.

<Overlord>

It’s a joke name for an alt guild referencing the mog set I typically wear.

For an actual guild name, I think most people will think your choice is underwhelming.

Happy to provide naming services (player or guild) for a reasonable fee.

There’s not a single aspect of this game I’d ever want your advice for.
So he won't be joining the guild then?
I dig the new guild name and banner. Been offline with work but hopefully will get some playtime soon. Cheers guildies.
I like the name, but what have you been emboldened to do? Were you scared before? What were you scared of?

As you may or may not know <Warforged Legion> was a purely WPvP guild for the longest time. Since the lull in WPvP the guild has felt empowered to explore other aspects of the game. We have also had a surge in members feeling more empowered in their real lives too going for goals and dreams they didn't feel were reasonable before. I personally am proud of them for feeling "emboldened" (haha) to do so and feel like a proud dad when I see them out their achieving their dreams be they in game or beyond the borders of the computer screen.

As for the RP behind the name the leaders of the guild are taking it upon themselves to make bold moves that they wouldn't have made before.

At the end of the day though it's just a name for the guild and I am more than happy to play with the people I play with whether they be under the name <Warforged Legion>, <The Emboldened> or even a joke name like <BRB Cat stuck in Toaster>. It's about the people not the name and I am lucky.

That wasn’t very nice.

:(

Perhaps <The Unmannered> would have been a more apt choice given how fellow community members are treated by you.

I think I will leave this thread. A shame that The Gatekeeper to ED is treated as such!

He spent a loooooong time working on it!
Over the past couple days we've made a lot of progress in getting back up to the top in achievement points as well as kicking butt in some guild RBGs and having a blast at our guild meet and greet the other day! Taking a moment to say thank you to the guys and gals in guild for making all of this possible! You guys are awesome! Can't wait to help gear up some guildies in Antoras tonight and whatever other shananigans we get into!
Our CoGM Aynra wrote a small intro to the guild a couple years ago

“The History of the Emboldened” -Åynra Vermicu’las, Year XX33

For hundreds upon thousands of years our heroes have formed militias and alliances in an attempt to relinquish themselves from common conflicts, the fact of this matter is reflected in our guilds very nature. However, for you to be formally inaugurated to our antiquities we must start from the beginning. Our upcoming begins in the midst of the Third War, before the first Scourge invasion of our beloved Quel’Thalas. When the scourge dared to usher war at the anterior of our kingdom we responded with fierce rapidity, mobilizing our forces and sending heroes forth towards the lower forests of Quel’Thalas. However the Lich proved more merciless than our protectors had intended, many of our Rangers were forced to retreat past the bounds of the northernmost kingdoms.

The fall of Sylvanas’ declared a turning point for the remaining soldiers held up within the gates of Silvermoon, we were broken and disheartened from the loss of our beloved general. Our attempts to endure were eradicated by the fall of the Ban’dinoriel, an ancient shield whose demise allowed the ground dwellers of the Scourge to make their way into our city. Yet with a stroke of luck, the magi amongst our ranks were able to evacuate us to the Isle of Quel’Danas; our militia escaped last, ensuring that our fallen comrades had not perished in vain.

The Lich made his way towards our last stand. Shortly after his arrival we were militarily decapitated by the death of our King, Anasterian Sunstrider, but the Lich couldn’t have been less interested in our defeat. He corrupted our Sunwell and left without return, dealing a blow that would haunt our people up to the present day.

We fallen heroes united and pledged an allegiance to one another, to never again let malevolent forces penetrate our sacred kingdom. In our travels we changed affiliation and name several times, venturing into whatever front sought to threaten the safety of our homeland. Sylvanas took her role over the risen dead who called themselves the Forsaken while Lor’themar succeeded her, taking his seat as the Regent Lord of Quel'Thalas. Our band of militiamen soon combining into a more formal organization, we called ourselves the Warforged Legion. Not long after our unification, the Orb of Translocation was founded in both Silvermoon and the ruins of Lordaeron which connected the two great kingdoms; The hand of the newly formed Horde was then extended to the Forsaken, with our kingdom following soon after; Thus our people were given a seat at Thrall’s political table.

From there we united forces with the other heroes of the Horde and set out for whoever sought to defeat us, we gained many allies in our endeavours including the Scryers’ from the defense of Shattrath, the Shattered Sun Offensive from the revival of the Sunwell, the Kirin Tor and Argent Crusade from the crusade into Icecrown Citadel and countless others that would aid us on our path. For the greater half of our timeline we followed the city of Dalaran to whichever front needed our aid; However after a great deal of time we decided to settle our forces in the forests North of the Orc city of Orgrimmar, in a tower at the foot of Mount Hyjal where we launched our forces to wherever need be.
