How is it brainless when you only used 2 buttons out of the kit? The kit is far larger than that.
You clearly weren’t playing BM Hunter anywhere near its full potential if you believe only 2 buttons are used.

If you’re saying that then you have no idea how to play BM Hunter.
They’re the poster child of high risk and low reward.
Healers hate BM Hunters in M+ due to how fragile they are while BM Hunters only bring damage and no utility.
I run Ferocity pets because im just a open world player, and if i am in a grp, i usually know when to pop it.

It feels worse when pulls and bosses spam unavoidable aoe damage.
Use my only defensive and my only heal.

No dps class is hard to play, it’s all pushing buttons at specific times. Even classes that do suffer from button bloat, it’s all muscle memory at a certain point.
Healers are complicated, dps is not.
But totally BM aoe spec is like 5 buttons to rotate, its easy. ST is a borefest, everything is on the gcd lol. So much fun to watch it go round

Not really.
If you’re hyper focused ST for BM then you will have procs that instant refresh your main rotation skills.
It’s very versatile.
I should say the opener for ST is boring. But yeah, the insta refresh is fun when it happens!
you’re hurting me, buff mm or nerf bm idc which happens at this point but being able to gain 20k dps and sit in the same percentile just by changing to the easier spec does not feel good.

Try avoiding damage at 100 yards with no heals! It is BS for ANY hunter spec!

MM needs a rework on top of buffs.
Survival actually needs to be able to Survive. They’re just as squishy as MM and BM yet are stuck in melee.

I dunno, I swapped to my custom BM and just kinda press whatever is not on CD and do great damage.
The priority list I use is pretty simple: BW > DC > KS > KC > ES > BS.
You can macro it to mouse scroll lol.
If everything else is on CD, press Cobra Shot /shrug.
AoE? Just multi-shot every 5s and keep pressing whatever.
That’s the true idiotic part (not exclusive to hunters though. Fury is equally stupid, HDH might be even more braindead). AoE is way too high.
It’s simple, but it’s not a 2 button wonder, and the bulk of the damage is wholly dependant on the player pressing those KC.
It’s a really nice spec when you want to unwind and play easy mode, it just needs more self-healing (love my spirit wolf tho, for the clutch heal), and preferably a leech heavy build (and that’s entirely up to RNG).
It’s amazing how much you can get away with, with just 12% leech.
