Eh. That’s stretching it. They’re more like elves than humans, even though the model is the same.
It could be argued, but it’s a stretch. Dwarves just deserve love, man.

As you said, it’s literally the same model and you can look exactly like a female human. You hardly notice those small pointy ears on them xD
They don’t even look very human, though. Just in body. So I barely consider them a human recolor. Besides, we’re talking about allied races as a whole and this just feels like a technicality.
Dead boys have more in-line with humans than female dracs do.

But ok, if 4 elf options are somehow worse than 4 1/2 human options… It’s your opinion.
I think it all pretty lazy, be it humans, dwarves, elves, Draenei, gnomes, tauren… what not. Other games call it customization options. If you’re overweight in this game or have a different color or maybe just a different nail tone (in case of Draenei) you’re a new race.
Visages aren’t literally what they appear as.
I mean, they can look human adjacent, but reptile eyes and minimal scales aren’t very human-like traits. Unless you’re a Congressperson/Parliamentarian.
Im not saying having multiple options are “worse,” either. I like having four (and a half, i guess?) flavors of human and four flavors of elf.
I just think complaining about a new dwarf while we have a bunch of options for other races is silly.
I can understand the frustration. This company has more than enough money, but instead of delivering actual new races, they provide copy&paste options.
Is it really lazy if its a bunch of extra customizations, a new racial or two, and its playable from the start of the expansion?
Im all for another recolored race if it nets us cool customizations and if we can play it from the very start. Is it lazy?
Maybe. But it’s cool and it’s Blizzard, so why care? Especially if other recolors exist.

I think the true issue is there are a plethora of other race choices that people have been asking for, like Ogre or Jinyu or broken. While I’m sure there are some people who have wanted to play as earthen I don’t think the amount is many.
And I get it, it’s thematic to have them as the choice, but if they had been smart and surprised us, they could have had the humanoid nerubian as the good race and the earthen as antagonists, but alas.
Jinyu and Broken would have been cool tho, fr. Broken > LF Draenei
I don’t get the appeal for ogres and I’m a fatso human main. They’ve always seemed like a wild card, the two-headedness would be really weird to model, and female ogres don’t exist (as far as we know).
