The Druid code

This has been a discussion on my server forum. How many Druids abide by the old “Druid Code” which basically says don’t PvP in Moonglade.

I’m on a PvP server, but I do go with the Druid code. When I’m in Moonglade, I do not attack horde Druids. I think it’s just disrespectful and that’s a place we should show one another some level of respect. There are a few druid quests that take us back there, like bear form, Aquatic form, etc… also it being our free teleport to Kalimdor.

I have actually cheered for young Tauren getting their bear form done!

How is it on your server? Druid code? Or every Druid for themselves?

I’ve yet to see hostility in Moonglade on my Horde Druid (Deviate Delight).

My Druid code goes a little further. I don’t ever attack druids in the world, I’ll help an Alliance druid with a mob or escort or something if they look to be in trouble and are solo, and if attacked by a solo druid I’ll do my best to just escape without fighting back.

Group PvP it all goes out the window.

I can’t break such a code

the npcs would kill me

too bad. i kinda want some tauren meat

I can understand that. The only Horde Druid I ever attacked in the world had killed me while I was fighting 2 mobs. So it was kind of getting even.

Honestly, I think if you have a good Druid then it’s a stupid fight anyways. They take FOREVER!!!

Red is always (fumbles the Code of Rogues handbook) a split decision of opportunity, risk vs reward.

+1 for Druid Code, for RP reasons.

I can’t expect any other Druids to abide by said code, but I do. Attacking another Druid in Moonglade is the faux pas-est of faux pas.

I refrain from attacking other Druids in contested territory, unless there’s a really, really, really, really awful guild name.

Same used to go for Hunters on opposite factions making tames. Would not attack a fellow hunter or his tame while out in the world.

I don’t attack in Moonglade for sure. I rarely attack druids in the world in general. This is in part because of the Druid code and in part because Druid v Druid pvp is tedious.

Tauren are far too active, and it just makes the meat tough and problematic. It’s better to just hug them and move on to more tender eats…

That would totally make sense on an RP-PvP realm. On a regular pvp realm though… I wouldn’t do it but I would understand if someone else did it.

Yeah, I’m on a regular PvP realm, and I think the courtesy is really based on the community. Every Tauren I’ve met in Moonglade has been a total bro.

Dont you get spanked by guards if you attack people in Moonglade anyway? Haven’t tried.

The Hunter Code also extended to not killing each other pets, too, correct? Everyone needs a code. My class just happens to be the most straight forward.

In the city part, yes. But some of the questing areas are unguarded.

I believe it is important to kill young Tauren druids to help cull the herd of the weak. Druids are firm believers of natural selection, and I’m a firm believer of Barbequing on the weekend.

First of all it’s not the Druid code it’s the drood code. 2nd I am now going to create a drood on a pvp realm just to wreck you sissy alliance droods that follow this code. We’re enemies. Act like it.

Didn’t know this was a thing. I got wrecked by a higher level nelf druid while I was doing one of the first class quests there so I’ve kinda assumed it was just PvP means PvP. I like the idea of it and will respect it myself going forward though.

It was an old thing from Vanilla. Ultimately I remember a super popular Druid that designed a list of “guidelines” in a Druid code. Not pvping in Moonglade was like number 2 on the list of 5 guidelines. I’ll have to see if I can find it later.

There used to be class forums, and Classes had their tight knit communities. Similar to how someone mentioned hunters shouldn’t kill other hunters on a tame, or their tame. I remember that being a professional courtesy.

Yeah I will help a Horde druid if they are overwhelmed. It’s nice.

And once I was picking and herb and I guess that cow wanted it. Attacked me in cat form. So I hybernated the cat, /patted it, and ran off leaving the herb for the sleeping kitty.

Ya, us Tauren can get a little overzealous with herbs…
