Honestly? It's OK to find that a little silly. But it's also OK to find it a pretty good looking mount.

Let people enjoy what they enjoy.
Personally I kind of like it and find it a little meh at the same time. I'm not bothering because it's big and clumsy and I know I'd never use it after the first five minutes, but I'm not gonna be down on anyone else who likes it.

It doesn’t float, it looks terrible, and is obnoxiously big. It also looks completely out of place in game and breaks my immersion.
I agree. Let them enjoy it, even it is one of the ugliest mounts in the game and doesn't make a bit of sense on the water.
Then again, my winged mounts no longer fly because Blizz wants the map to seem bigger than it is and slow down the casual player.

I like it, with my artifact fishing rod to increase swim speed, it feels like an actual boat sailing.
I just looked at it as "well, I'm not going to unsub so might as well save a little and get 6 months and if I get a free mount, cool beans."
Destroy any of these boats as you find them.
Each boat brought down brings us closer to ridding the world of these ugly, awful, cash-grab mounts.

Blizzcon 2018 mounts? Why not Jaina's flying boat for Alliance, Talanji's floating (water strider) boat for Horde? What better way to reinforce the BfA theme.
I enjoy it and will use it when I can, but personally, I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want a parrot mount, especially the one from mythic freehold. It'll probably never drop for me, though, because Blizzard hates me when it comes to mount drops that aren't 100%. I'm not sure I have a single mount that isn't a 100% drop rate other than the Brewfest Kodo.

The boat mount is way too small. I can still find an NPC when one is nearby.

Yikes.
It is the down syndrome of mounts, I agree. I get satisfaction knowing that everyone who has one wasted their money subbing for 6 months.
