The Dragonflight S1 M+ Achievement mount looks just so bad

Has people seen the upcoming Dragonflight S1 M+ achievement mount ?

This looks more than bad. This is a mount we get from completing a quest, killing a rare, something like that. Not from finishing 8 to 16 M+15 dungeons in a season. I hope this is a placeholder for the ACTUAL mount that will (hopefully) look badass, and that will be able to dragonfly as the Raid and PvP ones does.

I’ll redirect some Wowhead comments here, to give you an idea of how people seem to dislike it :

  • " …can it fly? "
  • " ground mount LUL "
  • " So pvp and raid get dragonriding mounts but the m+ one doesn’t even fly? "
  • " what is this "
  • " EWWWWWW "
  • " Well this looks horrible. Ground mount is a punch in the gut. "

It seems like kind of an angler fish but on a hyena’s body, painted blue and covered with a bunch of random spikes?

It’s pretty disappointing, but it’s not like blizz is so out of touch they don’t know it.

They WANT m+ to have a demonstrably worse reward. They WANT you to know they know it’s bad.

If they honestly didn’t know this would feel insulting to a lot of m+ players then they are just horribly bad at their jobs. Like comically bad. I simply refuse to believe that every person on the decision process is that professionally incompetent.

I saw an other comment on wowhead about this mount, made me laugh.

" Ground mount as a reward in a dragon flying expansion built around flying.

Tell me you’re completely disconnected from the game you’re designing and your player base without telling me you’re completely disconnected from them. "

Other than “waa, it can’t fly!” I fail to see what’s wrong with it. Do PvPers get their undies this twisted when the latest Vicious mount doesn’t fly? Or does that not matter because you can’t fly in PvP any more than you can fly in M+.

Looks fine, it actually seems a bit more detailed and refined than seasonal mounts usually are.

Technically…you can fly in one of the DF mythic dungeons, which will be available in Season 1 so…which arena/raid in season one of DF can you fly in that they need a flying mount for?

Almost all mounts are just a +1 for me at this point. This one won’t be different especially more in DF where there is no reason to not just use a dragon riding mount anyway. I didn’t use the mythic+ mounts for SL even though they could fly because while they are very cool and I actually like them quite a lot (especially the red), they just are too big to cleanly fit into doors and the annoyance of dismounting is enough for me to banish it to the pile

But if raiding and PvP have dragonriding mounts, mythic+ should too imo.

I like it, its basically a diff version of a FF mob called Behemoth/Ur-Dragon King.

I dunno what Blizzard is doing. They slightly improved the high-end reward structure for M+, but then they delivered this absolute garbage dump of a mount,

The mount itself imo is fine. The issue is it being the mythic+ mount. Both raid and pvp will reward dragon riding ones. No reason this shouldn’t be the case for M+. Move this mount reward elsewhere

I actually like how the mount looks, but I do think it’s very silly to reward a ground mount in the dragonriding expansion. Do we also get a dragonriding skin?

That’s my problem. The mount looks indeed very very cool, however it’s rewarded for passing hours and days and weeks doing Mythic+ until you reach full 15+ timed (for the average player). This is the reward for such high efforts, it doesn’t fly in a dragon flying expansion, it’s entirely ground mount and it doesn’t even have cool animations being a remake of a kodo. Nor does it have cool effects on it. It’s literally the most disappointing KSM mount we’ve had ever since they started doing them. The Corrupted KSM one in S4 BFA was better and it’s a flying snake.

Literally the " it can’t fly " is the entire problem with it. PvP gladiator mount can fly, raiding achievement and AoTC can, Vicious never could so who cares, vicious are made to be used in Arenas as you cannot fly there. Also as far as I know the latest vicious wolf can fly, am I wrong ? Cause it’s craftable variant from Zereth Mortis can. Anyways in M+ you will be able to fly as Derder mentioned.

I’d rather leave it, it’s way too disapointing for me to give a damn about it and actually work and put a lot of effort into getting it. It’s way too bad.
