The Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Patches Go Live Beginning Oct. 25

3weeks… Until the meat if the pre patch

The problem that most have is the time frame.
We have a full month until we get the main course.

The meat is November 15th, it is the 18th, that is 4 weeks. a Month.

Saying 3 weeks after prepatch when the first part of the prepatch itself is Talents and HUD changes.

In all honesty to me the prepatch isn’t even till the 15th.

Tbh it sounds like a ploy. The new Cod launches in a little over a week.
Overwatch is still fresh. By delaying what the majority want, they get more to play those.

Perhaps, but most prepatch events have generally been in the 4 week timeframe and not everything was available in those prepatch events in week 1. To expect this to be any different seems like an extremely unlikely scenario especially when it was not announced this would be any different in advance.

What they should do is release evokers in p1 and keep the event p2. But even still, p2 is a month away. At most, it should be 2 weeks after p1.
It’s impossible to make everyone happy, but this just seems like a mistake that will upset the majority.

There’s also no rime or reason for it to be the exact same every expansion cycle.

I liked that they did this slow burn for the beta to test the content better but using it for live “content” to farm subs from 0 content is gross, if they had a reason to not be able to release Dracthyr and the event on the 25th or hell anytime before midway through November then i’d be ok with it, but from the footage i’ve seen from beta, at bare-minimum Evokers and the in-game event look finished.

It’s not gonna take me a month to set up my talents and UI.

Idc about evokers but was hoping to have more time for the actual prepatch event.

So let me get this straight. The season is ending, we lose our tier and our legendaries, replace them with talents that we don’t have full access to yet, and then have to wait another 3 weeks for anything to happen? Sounds like a raw deal to me. Just delay the whole patch at this point.

There is a method to it - and reason. I’m not arguing that I approve of the way they are doing things. I am, however, arguing that this has been their repeated and expected pattern for literally the vast majority (if not every) expansion’s prepatch. If they’ve not altered it, they’re not likely to alter it. Therefore, it becomes irrational and illogical to expect a change to an established pattern.

Evokers start at level 58, they only need an hour (or less if you’re super efficient) to get to 60. It’s not difficult and doesn’t require a lot of time to experiment or play with them in advance.

I find that word usage insulting to my people.

This also means we don’t get Chromie Time 1-60 until the 15th. So what the heck are the first three weeks for? Adjusting our ui? Ok there goes 1 hour. What’s the other 20 days and 23 hours for? Why even bother?

The point is that it’s new content, not that I’m gonna need 13 days to get Evoker set up.

I want a prepatch to actually have content to do longer than 13 days.

Move prepatch back to the 1st of November and drop it all, give us almost a month to do everything then bam, new expansion.

its always been this way”, isn’t a valid excuse anymore.

two phases? Cool!
I can dig this, some time to adjust to the systems, then some time to play with the systems. And bonus content.
Sounds great!

Also the heirloom that comes with prepatch requires a rare drop from 4 different bosses. Btw these drops are bound to a charcter and not account. There is definitely not enough time for this.

I expect they’ll still be polishing a few things during those 3 weeks. There’s still a lot to do and fix, including things we haven’t seen or tested.

THATS THICKER THAN A SNICKER! Looking forward to it.

I get it. But even LK’s original prepatch content was about a week. Classic LK (which I think is a misnomer in naming) got it stretched to 2 weeks due to a glitch in their calendar. The point, however, is they never have a lot of content to do in prepatch and that pattern was established over a decade ago.

I would appreciate if they clarified this, I was looking forward to finishing the leveling of a couple of alts I have been holding back from shadowlands.
