Seems counterintuitive to drop our new players into an empty world and hardly run into anyone until lvl 70.

Zones are empty because nobody levels via questing. Nothing to do with the default continent.

Add on the extra phasing layers from Chromie time and it’s very unlikely you’ll see a single soul.
That or it’s because my server is a graveyard.

All Chromie Time is the same layer, doesn’t matter which one you pick. That only determines what breadcrumb quest it gives. Also DF is permanently Chrome Time enabled if you’re under level… 60 I think? Maybe it’s 70. Doesn’t matter if you go to her and turn it off, when you’re in DF zones it’s always enabled for low levels, they can’t see 70s even in Valdrakken.
Most zones are gonna be empty because often not a lot of reasons to be in the world.
I forget how to level outside of TW.
But, it’s crucial to the plot in TWW to know that Alexstrasza has big mom energy.
I logged into a 70 alt in Valdrakken and got the sads.
I would have preferred the reason for your thread to be about something else because Dragonflight is bad and boring, but this thread isn’t it because this has been seen since after TBC. It’s classic in all the expansion styles that are no longer relevant for the new version of WoW.
Obviously, it will have a larger player base in the new expansion, and the previous one is no longer used; it’s no longer useful. Even though there has been a difference, like farming in Shadowlands, thanks to the rewards given by Repu Chests if you’re exalted in all factions.
Dragonflight still has this, but it’s not that much because of the amount of gold it gives. It’s already part of the system anyway. If it’s an expansion, it doesn’t serve as experience like the new one. That area is empty.
And don’t say you didn’t buy the expansion, I didn’t even buy Dragonflight, my last expansion was Shadowlands, and I stayed there, by the way my toaster with HDD can’t handle the quality of Dragon Isle beacuse the longtime Loading screen to the point that they kicked me because they wanted more than because they thought I was AFK (stupid was it Tank or the healer at that time 
), which is similar to other areas in previous expansions, and apart from the fact that I have a negative image of this expansion, I prefer not to participate in that zone like old Draenor in WoD.
The natural consequence of the “steamroll a piss-easy dungeon in 4 mins and gain 2 levels” world (of warcraft) we currently live in.
How so? You can level by doing the quests and Follower Dungeons.
I level most of my alts by questing. I use Chromie Time because they are alts but they could just as easily be leveled by questing in DF.
