I am very excited for this, but I am a disappointed in the variety of classes available. Since the dracthyr are made from the essence of all dragonflights, they should be easy shoe-ins for classes that use elemental magic like shaman and druid. Druid especially since one of their magic forms are green and directly tied to the Emerald Dream.
I hope to see dracthyr be able to become shaman and druids in the near future, as well as shaman, druid, and paladins become available to more races.
Well, actually, it’s entirely possible we will still get paladin.
Paladin is one the classes with additional assets that have to be made for each race, so it’s more work than just simply “flipping a switch.”
So, during DF, we saw Priest & Mage & Rogue & Warlock go to every race. None of which have any additional assets for the class.
But things like Druid, Shaman, Paladin all have individual racial assets. So, when blizz does do one of those classes to make them more available to more races, it’s likely we’ll see dracthyr get 1 or more of those classes.
There’s so much potential for cool Ascendance forms for Shaman and that’s what they came up with? Nothing about it looks Shaman-like. The head and hair in particular are awful.
I think the tail swipe/wing buffet and glide is part of the Dracthyr, but I def think allowing any class Drac other than Evoker to fly is not balance. Glide is similar to what DH has. What I do think needs to be a thing that always happens for every class that is Drac, is that when you wing buffet or tail swipe, you switch out of visage. You need to have a tail and wings to swipe or buffet with.
The ascendance form looks much better - but nonetheless nobody really wanted a thunderclown.
If you can stretch that texture over the player models character then that’s pretty good but yeh… we want to look like an elemental lord, not a twilight’s hammer cultist.
